We have also revised the Paramedic Prep course (see Action Plan for explanation of both).. In October 2011 we began using the HESI Admission Assessment (A2) exam for the pretest; the first class taking this exam was the Winter 2012 paramedic class. Once several classes have completed the program with HESI as the pretest, we will again conduct a pre & post analysis of Registry exam results, as we did with the HOBET. As for the Paramedic Prep course, the College's switch to semesters (effective Autumn 2012) gave us an opportune time to re-think & search for a more creative and effective way to provide the AP&P content. We have implemented a model which combines both pre-requisite content AND integrated patient assessment content related to AP&P. We are presenting this class in a 'hybrid' format, combining online instruction utilizing multiple types of interaction, along with 'face-to-face' integration of concepts via scenario-driven work sessions. We are continuing to monitor retention trends within our program. Positive Placement Positive Placement Positive Placement of the graduates is above the threshold. No action needed. Page 11.
