1 Research & Studies Department Corporate Finance Department Investment Patterns Report Amman Stock Exchange Monthly Report TUESDAY March 31th, 2015 Issue: Jan Feb March April May Jun Jul Aug Sept Oct Nov Dec About The Report: The report aims to track investment patterns as they prevail in accordance to the trading activities associated with the various nationality groups active in ASE, in addition to tracking main ASE monthly indices. Latest Trends: & Investors were Net Buyers investors bought ASE shares valued at JD42.51 million, while selling JD39.14 million resulting in a positive investment of JD3.38 million. (Compared to a positive investment valued at JD3.54 million recorded during February 2015) Report Overview: Monthly Net Investment Changes - JDs: (Buying value - Selling value) -10,154,458 3,375,424 6,779,034 As for Investors, they have sold shares amounting to JD million, opposed to buying JD million of ASE shares. Thus, resulting in a negative investment of JD10.15 million.(compared to a negative investment valued at JD3.04 million recorded during February 2015) Finally, investors sold shares worth JD6.15 million, and have bought JD12.93 million of ASE shares. As such, investors hold a little over 54.4% of ASE s total market cap, while investors contribute to almost 35.6% of ASE s total market cap, leaving foreign investors with a share of 9.9% valued at JD 1.74 billion. With reference to the top ASE nationalities according to ownership, the Lebanese ownership in ASE ranked second after s, owning 6.3%, while Kuwaiti ownership came in third place with an ownership of 6.1% of ASE market value. After examining the number of transactions executed during this month, it was found that investors were the most active as they have executed 89.7% of all transactions, which left the Iraqis trades with a minor share of 3.1% and Palestinian with that equal to 2.6%. In other words, 67.7% of 264 listed companies securities on the ASE are in the hands of s, while s and ers own 25.5% and 6.8% of ASE securities, respectively. Lebanese investors came in first among s in terms of market value (6.3% of ASE Total Market Cap.). American Investors came in first among ers in terms of market value (3.1% of ASE T. Market Cap.).
