3 Dear classic car enthusiasts, Introduction to THE PENINSULA TOKYO RALLY NIPPON 2017 We are Rally Nippon Foundation, the host of RALLY NIPPON This event will be our 9th RALLY NIPPON. The first ever RALLY NIPPON hosted in 2009 and the second Rally NIPPON hosted in 2010, were collaborated officially with UNESCO Heritage for The Future movements which started in April of From the third RALLY NIPPON in 2011, the event was endorsed and supported by the Ministry of Japan Tourism. The fifth RALLY NIPPON in 2013 took place in Taiwan. As gratitude for donations which we received for Great East Japan Earthquake. The Rally was organized to take a trip around Taiwan. It was also the first time the Japanese Rally was held abroad. RALLY NIPPON 2015 began in Kyushu as the starting point for the first time and the route took a round trip of the Shikoku Island. RALLY NIPPON 2016 was hosted again in Taiwan. In 2017, RALLY NIPPON will start from Kyoto Nijo Castle and travel to The Peninsula Tokyo, in celebration of its 10 th anniversary. Each year, part of the entry fee is donated by Rally Nippon to the shrines and temples of the World Heritage and Cultural Heritage sites on the event course, which means by participating in this four-day rally, participants will become special messengers passing on the beauty of Japan to the future generations. 4 Concept of Rally TSUNAGU (Unite) Support Project to Empower Japan! This is RALLY NIPPON. Japan has many historical and monumental structures and natural habitat preserved and protected throughout our history. Through the course of history, these structures and natural habitats have adapted into beautiful wonders that cultivate the history of Japan, and became well known in the world as the World Heritage. Preserved and treasured World Heritage and Cultural Heritage sites will be united with humanity's masterpiece accomplishment, classic cars. Rally Nippon will take the journey to the majestic and historical locations and insights to wisdom and craftsman skill that enriched our history, as well as experiencing desires and compassion that people have put into preserving these places. RALLY NIPPON connects People to People, Region to Region, Heart to Heart. Classic cars can be qualified as future heritage. Each car holds the proof of car makers work of masterpiece. Hearing the tune of exhaust brings back the memories of exciting days. As drivers enter the magical journey and rediscover the many beautiful wonders of Japan through the rally. Each participants of Rally Nippon will become a special messenger to tell and show the beautify of Japan to the world. 6 Application Process The Peninsula Tokyo RALLY NIPPON 2017 Participation Method On January 4, 2017, information on The Peninsula Tokyo Rally Nippon and entry forms will be available on Rally Nippon and The Peninsula Tokyo s websites. Applications are accepted on a first-come first-served basis and will be reviewed accordingly. Notification of approval and participation will be sent by . Based on the number of applications, Rally Nippon may determine the participants by a lottery system. We appreciate your cooperation to create a successful event. 1. Required Documents 1. 12 Enclosed Agreement I understand and acknowledge the agreements as participants of rally during the period of THE PENINSULA TOKYO RALLY NIPPON 2017 from October 21st to October 24th, All participants must comply with the Constitution of Japan, road traffic laws as well as related applicable legislation and regulations to drive safe throughout the event. 2. Must be mentally and physically fit. 3. During the event, if I cause or be involved in an accident as a perpetrator or as a victim (theft or damage of entry vehicle, traffic accidents, participants illness, loss of personal items), I will promptly report to the police, fire department, and executive office. I will not imply or attach any form of liability to the host of the event. I will take the full responsibility of the matter and settle it on my own. 4. If other participants are unable to make the report or call to the local authorities in an incident of no. 3, I will act on behalf to make the necessary report or call to the authorities. 5. During the event, I will not make a claim for refund of fees against decisions made by the host and executive committee to cancel or shorten the event schedule due to natural disaster concern in the state of society, act of providence, or any cause of attribute by the host party. 6. I will not make a claim for a refund of an entry fee by personal cancellation reason. 7. I grant the host and related parties to the right and permission to use the movies and photographs taken by event television cameras, filmmakers, and camera man. 8. During the event, I will communicate and interact with other participants or residents and people in the region of the route in polite and appropriate manners, as well as conduct in ways which does not bring the event into disrepute. 9. I will accept fully decisions made by the committee with the setup of operation, any changes in routes or schedules. 10. Considering all consequence of accidents, I will have third-party liability insurance addition to the liability insurance. In the event of an accident, involving third-party as well as myself and or the registered vehicle in damages or injuries, I will take full responsibility and settle them on my own. 11. In the case of violation to terms of the agreement, continuing of the event will be decided by executive committee and will comply with the decision made and will not make a further claim against its decision. 13 Important Notice There may be up to two participants per each car, the driver and co-driver. The Peninsula Tokyo Rally Nippon 2017 will start on Saturday October 21, 2017 at the rally start line and will conclude on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 upon check-out after a one-night stay at The Peninsula Tokyo. For all other accommodations or travel plans, participants must make arrangements on their own. JTB Royal Road Ginza, a luxury travel agency, has been appointed to support participants with any necessary travel arrangements prior to or after The Peninsula Tokyo Rally Nippon 2017 in Japan. Should you need any support, please contact JTB Royal Road noted on Page 8 of this document. Accommodation during Rally Nippon 2017 includes a one night stay in one room per one participating car. The Rally Nippon 2017 entry fee for one car includes (for two participants) accommodation, meals and event merchandises during the event. The entry fee does not include air fare, accommodations, meals, transportation of cars before and after The Peninsula Tokyo Rally Nippon Please follow the entry form procedure to fill out the entry form noted on Page 6 and 7 of this document. Forms will be received on a first-come first-served basis. Once forms are evaluated and participation is approved, Rally Nippon will contact the participant by . CARS JAPAN, an automobile import agency has been appointed to support the shipping and importing process for participant s cars should you wish. For information on lead time of shipment and fees, please contact CARS noted on Page 8 of this document. In order to make cars eligible to drive in Japan without local registration, the owners must obtain CPD (Carnet de Passage en Douane) from an authority at original countries before shipment. All cars are expected to be shipped to the Port of Osaka. To receive cars at the port, original passports of car owners must be presented in order to clear import customs under CPD at least two days (or more) before receiving the car. Therefore participants are required to be in Japan at least two days prior to receiving the car. Please contact CARS for more details of requirements. 13
