2 Market Bosworth Country Show REGULATIONS FOR TRADE STANDS AND EXHIBITS 1. Sites and Rental: Open grass areas are available where Exhibitors may erect their own Stands at a minimum cost of per 4 metres frontage (approx. 9 metres depth). Additional lengths are available in multiples of 3 metres frontage at an additional cost of per 3 metres. N.B. Sites are only available in blocks of 3 metres. Where tents are to be erected, sufficient space must be taken to include guy ropes, as these cannot be allowed to project beyond the site taken. 2. Space: Sites for Trade Stands will be allocated by this Society having due regard to the character of the goods being sold and the layout of the show. NO REFUND of site rental will be made once an application has been received by the Society. NO POST DATED CHEQUES ACCEPTED. 3. Sites: All spaces allocated will be clearly marked and Exhibitors must ensure that the whole of their exhibit(s), including pegs, guy ropes, etc., are restricted to within these markings. In the event of an infringement, the Show Committee reserves the right to close and/or remove the Stand, in which case no part of the rent will be refunded. 4. Time: All Exhibits should be on the Showground by 8.00a.m. Show day and removed from Showground not later than 12 noon the day after the Show. Exhibitors are requested not to park their vehicles around the Showground but to use the main car park, unless their vehicle forms part of their Stand, when it should be parked within the limits booked. Vehicles, signs, banners, etc. must not obscure neighbouring Stands. 5. Liability: The Market Bosworth Agricultural, Horticultural & Equestrian Society or its Officers accept no responsibility for any death, injury, accident, theft, loss or damage, or other misfortune to any person, vehicle, or other thing brought or used at the Showground. It is therefore strongly recommended that Exhibitors should hold an appropriate Public Liability Insurance Policy. 6. Electricity and Water: Mains electricity and water is not available and if appropriate Exhibitors should make their own temporary arrangements for the supply of these facilities. 7. Catalogue Entry: A suitable description of each Exhibit will be included in the Show Catalogue. Details to be included should be quoted on the relevant Application Form. 8. Refusal of Entry: The Society reserves the right to refuse any application received. 9. Trade Stand Passes: For the first 4 metres one Trade Stand Vehicle only pass (driver not included) plus two Trade Stand Admit One Passes will be issued. For each additional 3 metres one Trade Stand Admit One pass will be issued. Any additional Admit One Passes required will be charged at normal admission prices. These to be booked and paid for at time of application. These Passes admit to the Showground for unloading and also allow them to park their vehicles in the main car park. Passes admit and re-admit throughout the Show. There will be no admission to vehicles not displaying a valid vehicle pass. These vehicles will be charged normal admission charges and NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE. 10. Behaviour of Exhibitors: No loudspeakers, shouting or annoying behaviour or amplification equipment will be allowed. 11. Litter: You are requested to bring suitable containers for any rubbish and to leave your site tidy with all rubbish in a pile to await collection. Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated in order that the Showground rubbish is kept to a minimum. 12. Receipts: Can be provided ONLY if SAE is sent with Trade Stand Fee. 6 Contractors and exhibitors are expected to be able to provide evidence of the following: Health and safety policies and procedures Risk assessments completed for the tasks they are carrying out Method statements and safe systems of work for the tasks they are asked to carry out on behalf of the Show Committee Evidence of check and competency checks for their employees where required by the law. Caterers and trade stand holders have a legal duty to comply with legislative health and safety requirements and ensure that they take all reasonable measures in the interests of safety of their employees and of the public. With regard to their employees, this is to include such training as may be necessary before the show must sign below to state that due regard has been given to health, safety and welfare of the public attending the show. Incomplete or unsigned forms will be returned. A completed risk assessment must also be returned along with a copy of any relevant food hygiene certificates. MACHINERY No plant, machinery or equipment used on the show field may be operated by any person who is not fully trained in its safe use and no item of equipment may be used by persons under thirteen years of age. Users of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) should wear a motorcycle helmet to proper standards when using ATVs on rough or steep terrain. The driver of the vehicle when reversing should ensure that there is another person observing at the rear of the vehicle. Plant or machinery may only be operated and demonstrated providing adequate precautions are taken to protect the operator and by-standards. A fenced-off area must be used and members of the public prevented from entering it. The area must be sufficient size to keep the public clear of ejected objects, e.g. chippings. Stewards and/or Safety Officer will check any demonstrations and have the authority to close them if it is felt they are unsafe and a risk to the public. Any ropes, chains or other devices used to tow vehicles or trailers on or off the site should be checked previously to ensure they are adequate strength and construction. Drivers must be told of the importance of hitching the towing chain and rope below the axle of the towing tractor and only tractors fitted with approved rollover protection should be used for this purpose. Static exhibits of machinery must be equipped with guards to full current regulation standards, and established in such a way that they do not present a risk to any person. Any part of the plant, which relies on oil pressure in a ram or similar device to support it, must be physically propped during the period it is on display. LIQUID PETROLEUM GAS (LPG) Users of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) on the show field are responsible for ensuring the correct and proper usage of this gas, together with proper storage of cylinders. It is also their responsibility to ensure that all appliances have been properly examined, tested and labelled accordingly. ELECTRICITY There is no mains electricity on the showground. If traders exhibiting on the field wish to provide their own generator it must be of the Super Silent type. All generators must be fitted with MCB and RCD protection and appropriately earthed. An earth spike fastened to the generators chassis and system earth and driven into the earth is the usual way of doing this. Silent Generators may be used as long as they cause no nuisance and comply with current HSE Regulations. CO2 and Foam Fire Extinguishers must be provided for the fire risk. Exhibitors must be able to demonstrate that their Portable Electrical Equipment or installation is in good order and has been inspected and is certified as such (PAT test Cert or Installation Test Cert). The Health and Safety Officers and Technical advisors appointed by the committee will carry out suitable check, e.g. by sample inspection, to ensure equipment is in good condition. When unsafe equipment is found it will be removed from service. The H&S officers decision is final.

7 FIRE PRECAUTIONS All persons must ensure that fire risks are kept to the minimum and should take preventative action in any situation, which might be considered to constitute a risk. Particular attention should be given to marquees and stalls where straw and dry fodder is in use. Smoking is prohibited in all such areas. Caterers are to ensure that adequate safety checks are carried out on food preparation and cooking equipment and also to ensure that an adequate supply or fully operational fire extinguishers are available. I also agree to abide by the following:- INDEMNIFICATION The Committee will exercise all reasonable care for comfort and safety of exhibits entrusted to them, but the Society will not be responsible for the entire or partial loss, non-staging or detention of, or damage to any Trade Stand Exhibits, or to any person or property, whether arising from accident or other persons or from any other cause. Further, it is a condition of entry that each Exhibitor will hold the Society blameless and will indemnify them against legal proceedings and also against compensation for damage arising out of, in consequence of, or in connection with any such accident, loss or damage.
