2 Checking Status of Referrals & Authorizations This document will guide you through the process of checking the status of your referrals or authorizations on UHCMilitarywest.com. You must log in to your secure account to check status of your referrals or authorizations. If you do not have an account, visit UHCMilitarywest.com and select Register. To check the status of a family member s referral or authorization, you must have access to that family member s information. See the Family Member Access User Guide for more information. Please note: If your referral or authorization contains sensitive health information, such as mental health treatment, or substance abuse, it will not be viewable online. It will be sent to you by mail even if you are signed up for paperless. 2

3 Checking Status of Referrals & Authorizations From the Beneficiary Overview page: Select Logon. Enter your Username and Password to access your secure area of the portal. 3

4 Checking Status of Referrals & Authorizations Once you are logged in, the Welcome page appears. Select My Referrals and Prior Authorizations under the Secure Content section. Note: Prime sponsors may delegate permission rights for other family members to access referrals and prior authorizations. For additional information on family member portal access, please refer to the Family Member Access Guide. 4

5 5 Checking Status of Referrals & Authorizations Select the activity timeframe from the dropdown list or enter a custom date range. Select Search. Note: Prime sponsors may delegate permission rights for other family members to access referrals and prior authorizations. For additional information on family member portal access, please refer to the Family Member Access Guide.

6 6 Checking Status of Referrals & Authorizations A summary page will display your search results. You may sort the results by selecting the titles of the columns. Select the reference number link to view the detailed status and additional information. (The status on the summary page may only show that it is Complete rather than Approved or Denied.) You may also view the letter by selecting the PDF icon on the right*. *The following referral or authorization letters will not be accessible online and instead will be mailed to you: Those containing sensitive information (the status will also not be available online) Denied requests (the status will be available online)

7 7 Checking Status of Referrals & Authorizations The detail screen will display the specific status, servicing provider name, service description, dates and other information. Select Close to return to the summary page. Please note: When the status is Subject to Point of Service, this means you have self-referred to a TRICARE network or non-network provider for services without a referral from your PCM.
