LI MI TATI ON S: 5.1 This Evaluation Report is not for use in the HVHZ 5.2 Fire Classification is not part of this Evaluation Report; refer to current Approved Roofing Materials Directory for fire ratings of this product. 5.3 GAF-ELK Storm Flash m ay be used with any prepared roof cover where the product is specifically referenced within FBC approval docum ents. I f not listed, a request m ay be m ade to the AHJ for approval based on this evaluation com bined with supporting data for the prepared roof covering. 5.4 Substrate is lim ited to m in. 15/ 32-inch plywood. 5.5 Allowable roof covers include m echanically attached asphalt shingles, m etal roofing, slate, sim ulated slate, tile or wood shakes & shingles 5.6 I nstall self-adhering underlaym ents when am bient tem peratures are m inim um 45 F and rising. 5.7 Decks shall be sm ooth, dry and free of dirt & debris. I N STALLATI ON: 6.1 GAF-ELK Storm Flash shall be installed in accordance with GAF-ELK published installation requirem ents subject to the Lim itations set forth in Section 5 herein and the specifics noted below. 6.2 Storm Flash is installed as a secondary water barrier using m inim um 4-inch wide rolls to seal plywood deck joints prior to installation of the prim ary underlaym ent system. Storm Flash is not a stand-alone underlaym ent. 6.3 All m etal surfaces shall be prim ed with LeakBuster Matrix 307 Prem ium Asphalt Prim er or alternate GAF-ELK accepted ASTM D41 prim er prior to application of self-adhering m em branes. 6.4 For best alignm ent, GAF-ELK recom m ends installation of m axim um 20-foot lengths. 6.5 Peel back the first 3-inches of release film, set the 3-inch section on the substrate, install two roofing nails; one in each corner 1-inch from each edge. 6.6 Peel the release film from the back of the sheet, while pressing Storm Flash against the substrate with a roller as you m ove across the deck. 6.7 All horizontal and vertical joints shall be butted, not overlapped. 7. LABELI N G: Each unit shall bear a perm anent label with the m anufacturer s nam e, logo, city, state and logo of the Accredited Quality Assurance Agency noted herein. 8.
