5 Culturetopia: The Ultimate High Performance Workplace Jason Young President, LeadSmart, Inc. It s your choice: Manage your culture, or it will manage you. Culture is simply the way people in an organization think and act. Culture is critical because it s what ultimately determines results. So, where do you start and how do you approach managing or changing your culture? No matter the size of the organization or complexity of its structure, big change, like a culture shift, is no easy task. But it s not complicated. It takes a focused determination and commitment by leaders who are willing to lead the way. The objective of any culture is to create an environment of shared values, shared vision and a shared operating system where there are high levels of fulfillment and high levels of performance. Jason, through the Culturetopia keynote presentation, will share the following objectives: Culturetopia Values - An in-depth look at the 7 critical values that create high performing teams and organizations. Creating Corporate Values - How to develop your own unique value system for your organization that can owned and shared. The Culturetopia Process - The framework for organizational buy-in, development and implementation of culture change. Continuing Improvement - Learn how to keep the culture alive and vital - measuring, assessing and adapting. Jason Young has been called a "rare breed" when it comes to developing leaders, teams and customer service initiatives. As a former senior-level manager at Southwest Airlines, Jason learned the value of a successful workplace culture. During his 10-years with the airline consistently rated No. 1 in customer service and employee satisfaction, he was a key driver in creating and developing the company s innovative training programs for its successful leadership and customer service culture that have become renowned in the business world today. Driven by the need to extend his unique insight in leadership development to others outside Southwest, Jason separated from the pack in 1998, when he left the airline to launch his own consulting practice to focus on corporate training and development services provider specializing in leadership, customer service and team building. Today, as president of LeadSmart, Inc., Jason shares his vision in developing successful corporate cultures and workplace environments with forward-thinking companies, including Starbucks, Radio Shack, Coca Cola and Tyson Foods, to name just a few. He has even returned to his old turf Southwest Airlines to extend his knowledge as a corporate training consultant.

9 Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Peter Kunkel SalientCRGT Every insurance company should have disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Insurance IT professionals and business folk alike need to know what it takes to resume business operations as usual, and as soon as possible, after an emergency, disaster or crisis. Prediction, planning and performance are essential. Does your company know what it will do after a disaster strikes? Does your company know what it will do to lessen the impact of a disaster? After participating in this session attendees will be able to answer the following questions: What is disaster recovery and do I really need it? What are the common mistakes companies make regarding disaster recovery? How do disaster recovery and business continuity differ? What 3 steps can we take to better prepare for both? What are the components of the business continuity plan life cycle? Mr. Kunkel is a Program Manager with SalientCRGT. Mr. Kunkel s background includes project and program management as well as team leadership. Mr. Kunkel s experience includes working with applications for financial services organizations with an emphasis on the property and casualty insurance market, as well as working with analytical laboratories and scientists for government contractors in the environmental engineering market. Mr. Kunkel has been involved directly in the insurance industry for 18 years as an application developer, business analyst, project manager, and program manager. Mr. Kunkel has been with SalientCRGT for the past 16 years. Mr. Kunkel s technical and leadership focus is a reflection of his academic background. Mr. Kunkel studied science and engineering while attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, earning a BS in chemistry, and coaching the women s ice hockey team. Mr. Kunkel has over twenty years of experience in consulting. From his scientific background he brings analytical skills to the technical environment and from his coaching experience he brings leadership skills to his project teams. Mr. Kunkel started his career with ABB Environmental Services as an environmental scientist and translated his data management experience into an information technology career. Mr. Kunkel left ABB to work for Allenbrook, Inc. as a database architect in insurance software product development. After several years Mr. Kunkel took his development skills to the Portland Maine s branch of SalientCRGT serving as a product developer and then manager on a variety of project teams.
