9 BANCO POPULAR PORTUGAL Set up in 2003, Banco Popular Portugal has shown steady growth and very consistent consolidation and has been playing an increasingly important role in financing the Portuguese economy, especially in the SME sector. The important capital increase in 2008 reinforced the bank s solidity and created the conditions to support the subsequent growth it has been showing in Portugal. In 2011, Banco Popular Portugal had 219 branches in mainland Portugal and on the islands. Banco Popular is specially prepared for leveraging its sound levels of liquidity and performance, having all the essential base conditions to position itself on the front line in order to secure growth opportunities. 11 ANGOLA Economy expected to grow more than 10% in 2012 Following significant growth in 2011, the IMF International Monetary Fund is forecasting an even greater double-digit leap in the Angolan economic growth indices, due to the development of the opportunities forecast for all sectors of economic activity. Major investments are expected from investors from all over the world, which will help to enrich the economic dynamism of the country. During 2011, Banco Bic continued to expand its commercial network, with the strategic objective of consolidating its position as one of the most important retail banks in Angola. 14 Banco Bic commercial network in Angola LUANDA PROVINCE 115 BRANCHES (2012) The expansion of Banco Bic s commercial network continued according to plan, reaching a total of 166 branches, 97 of which are in Luanda City. Although it has a strong presence in the capital, Banco BIC continues to be the second bank with branches in more municipalities in the country.

17 Banco BIC Português Despite the macroeconomic difficulties in Portugal, in 2011, Banco BIC Português, with Américo Amorim as one of its founding shareholders, alongside other important Portuguese and Angolan investors, showed improved results in comparison with Banco Bic Português has benefited from the dynamics of the privileged business relationship between Portuguese and Angolan investors, which allowed it to continue to pursue its Private Banking and Intermediation strategy. The bank has maintained its presence in 7 areas of Portugal. 18 MOZAMBIQUE Continued growth is the forecast for the coming years The Mozambican economy is expected to grow significantly in the coming years, partially due to a large increase in exports, which could reach the ambitious target of USD 3 billion.
19 Because of its geographic location, Mozambique operates as a platform for business with foreign markets. In addition, the recent discovery of natural gas will certainly give a very strong incentive to growth, along with the revitalisation of the Nacala, Beira and Maputo corridors.
20 Banco Único The bank that will change everything Banco Único is a universal bank focusing on retail. It works with all kinds of customers (private individuals and corporate), focused on personalised and high quality service throughout the country. It aims at being an innovative reference bank in the Mozambican financial sector. The first branch opened on 22 August 2011 and at the end of December it had 5 branches (4 in Maputo, including the head office, and 1 in Matola) and two commercial areas (one corporate and the other specialising in commercial support to NGOs).
