Arapahoe Community College HLC - Accreditation Learning Outcome Assessment Plan Data Communication: A Communication Plan for the Reaffirmation of Accreditation Process will be developed and implemented during the academic year. Assessment Author(s) Donna Chrislip Measure 1 Type: Direct Institutional data Measure 1 Description: The Communication Plan, complete with a timeline and designated activities, will be designed by September 1, The achievement of this Outcome will be measured according to the implementation of all aspects of the Plan through October 12, Measure 1 Sample Size: 350 1) Describe the benchmark for this measure. 100% of the Communication Plan will be implemented by October 1, 2016.
2) What is the rationale for choosing this benchmark? It is imperative that all ACC's stakeholders be aware of the reaffirmation of accreditation process by the time the Evaluation Team comes to ACC in October of This learning outcome was Measure 1 Results: As of March 2016, the Communication Plan for the Reaffirmation of Accreditation process has not been completed. However, the Communication Plan was designed as of September 1, 2015 and has been implemented, as planned up to this point. A copy of the Communication Plan is attached below. Communication Plan docx 1) How did unit/department performance compare to the benchmark? Once the preparation for the HLC Visit is completed in October, 100% of the Communication Plan will have been implemented. All activities that were planned through March of 2016 have been completed. 2) How does the data compare to the previous year, if applicable? Because the HLC Visit occurs infrequently, the Communication Plan was designed only for the academic year and the early part of the academic year. 1) Based on the findings, how does the unit/department rate performance in regards to this outcome (strong exceeds benchmark, neutral meets benchmark, or weak misses benchmark)? 2) How does this assessment affect plans for this coming year in terms of strategic planning, budget planning, administrative and educational support unit planning, and assessment planning? Impact of the Communication Plan will likely not be known until the HLC Team Visit. However, it will be helpful to future HLC Visits to have a Communication Plan stored in Tk20. A review of the process once the Visit is over will prompt some dos and don'ts for future HLC Reviews.
3) How will your assessment results enable you to improve institutional processes or academic instruction in order to support, facilitate and/or stimulate student learning? See above for preparation for HLC Visits. Assessment will provide insight as to the success of the Communication Plan in preparing ACC employees, as well as students, for the Visit. Further Action: Further Action Unnecessary Learning Outcome Information Management: All components of the Assurance Argument, the Federal Compliance Package, the Quality Initiative, Assumed Practices and Evidence File will be coordinated through ACC's Accreditation Liaison Officer and entered into the HLC Assurance System by July 31, Assessment Author(s) Donna Chrislip Measure 1 Type: Direct Measure 1 Description: The achievement of this Outcome will be determined via the accomplishment of tasks outlined in the timeline entered in the "Results" tab. 100% of all requirements must be met by July 31, 2016, with the exception of the Quality Initiative Report that was due by August 31, It was submitted on time and approved by HLC. Measure 1 Sample Size: 30
1) Describe the benchmark for this measure. 100% 2) What is the rationale for choosing this benchmark? Unless 100% of all HLC requirements for accreditation are met, ACC will not be eligible for reaffirmation of accreditation. This learning outcome was Measure 1 Results: Results will not be available until July 31, 2016; however, the Reaffirmation Team is "on track" to submit the Assurance Argument by July 15, ) How did unit/department performance compare to the benchmark? The Reaffirmation Team is "on track" to have the Assurance Argument submitted via the Assurance System as of July 15, ) How does the data compare to the previous year, if applicable? N.A. 3) If multiple measures were used, how do they compare to each other? N.A. The Assurance Argument must be submitted by the deadline in preparation for HLC Peer Reviewers.Because of the number of individuals involved in preparing for the HLC Visit, it will be important to allocate time and tasks efficiently to complete routine daily work, along with the work to complete the HLC reaccreditation process.
3) How will your assessment results enable you to improve institutional processes or academic instruction in order to support, facilitate and/or stimulate student learning? An assessment of the overall process of preparing for HLC reaffirmation of accreditation will be helpful to others who are responsible for the effort in future years. That information will be added to this assessment and stored in Tk20. Further Action: Further Action Unnecessary
