5 Framework Expected results Recommendations for action to increase the resilience of the food supply chain to involve the private food industry as an actor in case of crisis to involve the potential of private households and aid organisations to implement a communication model for inter-organisational and external risk- and crisis communication to re-organise the governmental emergency food supply system Towards the end of the project, based on all research findings: Development of a web application and a simulation tool for crisis managers and responsible authorities a training concept & documentation

6 Methodological approach in WP 4 WP4: The role of the population as adressee and actor within the food provision in case of crisis AIM: to identify the household s capabilities and limits of the private food provision in case of crisis 1. Analysis of governmental recommendations and expectations: What are citizens supposed to do? 2. Nationwide online survey: stockpiling behavior, risk perception The detected discrepancy between the governmental expectations and actual ressources of the population serves as a basis for the re-definition of the (possible) role of the population!
