I. Meeting Called to Order, Introduce any New Representatives Steve McGee called today s meeting to order at 10:07AM. Introduction of new members and roundtable introductions followed. II. III. IV. Committee Reports a. Planning/Logistics Committee Chief Gurka provided the following report: i. Radios 1. In-Building Communications issues still ongoing. Chief Nelson has provided the committee information, as well as an executive summary. Additional research is needed, but more information will be provided to this Association at next month s meeting. 2. OakTac talk group add that group to our radio system. Chief Nelson gave more details.

2 3. Request received for use of the MABAS-D: Chief Nelson provided background on this request to use MABAS Dispatch. ii. Box Alarm Cards Review and updates continue this month. Please acknowledge. iii. Medical Control 1. Nasal Narcan is coming (approx. $35-$45 per dose pack) 2. Ebola pods & batteries required Chief Nelson suggested that personnel become familiar with this equipment. 3. Pyramid repeaters there is a problem with the programming. County will contact. 4. Disaster Plan rewrite coming up McGee said that they are in need of help on the committee. Contact Bonnie Kincaid if you re interested. iv. CLEMIS/Fire Governance Report new committee members needed (Manning & Kwapis offered to help). Gurka suggested that Manning move over from the Operations Committee to the Planning/Logistics committee. Now Planning/Logistics will need a NE-area rep. Will bring up at next month s meeting. v. Website Upgrade photos, patches, insignias, and web addresses requested from all members. Gurka has moved forward with hiring new webmaster (Aaron Pressel/WBFD) to clean up the site, and make it more user-friendly. vi. Old business - New Funding Sources Gurka will touch base with Gary Sharp and report next month. b. Finance Committee Chief Averbuch provided the following report: i. Treasurer s Financial report as of February 28, 2015 Checking/Savings Checking 69, Hazmat Debit Card , Hazmat Debit Card , IMT Debit Card , IMT Debit Card , Knox Box Troy 5,000 Savings 159, Tech Rescue Debit Card , Tech Rescue Debit Card , Total Checking/Savings 265, ii. Overdue Invoices as of 03/11/15 8, /27/ incident Bloomfield Hills Mercury Spill 3, /10/ incident Grosse Pt Woods Trench 2, /17/ z- Independence Twp Fire Dept 3,000 MABAS responses between Association Members & out of the ordinary expenses The recommendation of the Finance Committee is for that department to go through their insurance company, or go to the host jurisdiction. iii. Out of Division Fee added to incidents occurring outside of this Association - Averbuch said that other MABAS divisions tack on an additional fee to any invoice. Will do more research and bring back to the Association in the near future. iv. Review of Budget Numbers Averbuch provided details on current, past & future budget years and expected expenditures. Finance Committee will review all details related to budget, and come back with a recommended dues policy. McGee followed up with the importance of getting a handle on these finances. c. Operations Committee Chief Cieslik provided the following report: i. Special teams activity report

3 1. IMT Ken Van sparrentak said there is a meeting next Thursday at the EOC. All Hazards class is full on March 23 rd. Looking to store a vehicle. 2. Hazmat Still a few spots available on the Hazmat Team. No deployments recently. 3. Technical Rescue Awaiting for the new oversight chief position to be filled before further expenditures. ii. Multiple Alarm Committee Report David Roberts provided information that the Commerce Twp incident report will be forthcoming. Manning provided brief report on 2 nd alarm incident in Auburn Hills. iii. Division Accountability Boards (update) All departments should have received their boards, as of today. iv. MAYDAY Procedure / RIC Equipment List Information will be disseminated to the group by the end of this week regarding these policies & procedures. Requested that the OCC training report be included within this subcommittee report on future agendas. v. OCC Training Report Matt Majestic provided information on upcoming trainings available. Recon/RIT program will now be a recognized course on their menu (eligible funded class). Elevator Rescue class being held in Novi (AM and PM courses will be available). Matt provided brief report on funds available via Training Council. RAFT is running Ice Rescue T-t-T, and monthly Blue Card classes. OCC is looking at Agility testing feasibility (goal would make it comparable to CPAT), to make testing more accessible. vi. State training funding Cieslik said the committee will work on a master list of training events in the future, so as not to lose any funding. VII. State MABAS Report Chief Bill Nelson had nothing to report. VIII. Oakland County Report a. OC HSD: Mike provided the following information: Officially draft a memo to Sarah as a voting member of GAC. Survey has been sent out by Kevin Scheid (FEMA grants). UASI Regional Training Workshop at Livonia (Schoolcraft) class on May 15 th. There is an open position on the GAC committee, so McGee has requested that Dave Kwapis act as our representative. More to come. b. OCSO: Ryan Cohee reported that there seems to be an increase in Box Card usage. Discussion followed on radio policy and MABAS channels related to Box Cards. Chief Nelson provided information and history regarding talk groups and mutual aid incidents. Discussion followed. Nelson reminded everyone that they are updating the original radio systems manual. IX. Old Business N/A X. New Business a. OCC/Training Report will be added to the Operations Subcommittee agenda for future. b. Vacant Positions to fill i. Tech Rescue Team Oversight Chief Vacancy - Election to be held today (Candidates include: Canto, Cieslik & Morawski) discussion followed on the current make-up of the team and regional representatives. Election took place with Sean Canto being nominated to this position. ii. MABAS Division Representative Cieslik made a motion to nominate Chief Steve McGee to act as the MABAS 3201 representative for the MABAS Division. Motion carried unanimously. c. Bill Johns (Southfield) as stepped down from the Task Force. Paul Strelchuk has stepped in to this position. There is one more slot to be filled. If you are interested, please see McGee. d. McLaren Oakland in Clarkston is now open. Convenient location for Priority 3 patients.
