1 LORIS: Financial Matters Transcript a Learning Services Presentation Slide 1: Hello! Welcome to the Laurier online workshop for the LORIS system.
2 Slide 2: This next workshop is a 4 part module that will help you view your tuition fees, find and interpret employment and pay information, find and print relevant forms for tax returns, and last but not least, view and update personal information. Slide 3: Let s begin by looking at how to view tuition fees.
3 Slide 4: Knowing how to view tuition fees is important so that you can pay on time and avoid unnecessary penalties. Interest is charged monthly on all overdue account balances. If tuition fees remain unpaid, a hold is placed on the student's account. From the Main Menu and click on the Student Services link. Slide 5: From the Student Services menu, click Student Records link.
4 Slide 6: From the Student Records menu, click Account Summary link. Slide 7: The Account Summary enables you to review summarized charge and payment information for your account and includes your total time in university to date. Account information displays all charges and payments including course registration, bus pass, University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) and UG Dental Plan, housing fees, and other fees as applicable. Please note that anticipated third party contract payments and memo items, such as OSAP anticipated credits, are not included in this summary.
5 Slide 8: For information on tuition fees in a particular term, please return to the Student Records menu and click on the Account Summary by Term icon. Slide 9: The Account Summary by Term page allows you to see your total tuition fees for a specific term. Costs for course registration, bus passes, insurance, and faculty fees are some of the information you can find on this page. If you have questions regarding any of the amounts, please contact the Business Office for more information.
6 Slide 10: Slide 11: From the Main Menu, click Employee.
7 Slide 12: From the Employee page, click on Pay Information. Slide 13: There are two ways to view employment and pay information. Let s look at the first way. From the Pay Information page, click Earnings History.
8 Slide 14: From the Earnings History page, select the relevant months for which you would like to view your earnings and click on the Display button. Slide 15: This is a sample of what your earnings could look like for a period. It gives you information about the total number of hours you worked and how much you have made for that period. By clicking on the New Date Range link, you can return to the Earnings History page, and look at another date range, such as a particular month.
9 Slide 16: Let s look at the second way to look at pay information. Return to the Pay Information Page and click on the Pay Stub link. Slide 17: From the Pay Stub page, select the relevant year and click the Display link.
10 Slide 18: This is a sample of your Pay Stub summary. From your Pay Stub summary, you can find out when you get paid, what the pay period is, and what your gross and net payments are for those two weeks.
11 Slide 19: Slide 20: From the Main Menu, click Student Services.
12 Slide 21: From the Student Services page, click the T2202A Tax Form link, which should take you to the Canadian Tax Forms page. Slide 22: From the Canadian Tax Forms page, click the T2202A Tax Credit Form option, and this should take you to the Tax Credit Data Form page.
13 Slide 23: From the Tax Credit Data Form page, select the tax year and the View Data option and click Submit. Slide 24: This page allows you to see the unofficial tax credit information.
14 Slide 25: When you are ready to print, return to the Tax Credit Data Form page. This time, select the Printable T2202A Form option and click Submit. Slide 26: You should now be at the Tax Credit Print Form page. Click Continue to view the official tax credit form. Please note that once you click Continue, your taxation record will say printed. Should you need to print out subsequent copies, they will say duplicate.
15 Slide 27: This is the official T2202A Tax Form. You can now print the document. When printing from a web browser, users may need to use Print Preview to check and adjust the size of the text, header/footer, and margins before printing the document. Slide 28:
16 Slide 29: From the Main Menu, click Personal Information link.
17 Slide 30: Here you can click on the various links to change your PIN, change security question, your address, phone number, address, emergency contacts, and SIN number. LORIS contains very personal information, so do make sure to change your PIN and security question to something only you know and can remember. Please change your security question because, if you forget your PIN, answering your security question will allow you to access LORIS. If you do not fill in your security question and you forget your PIN, you will have to go to the Registrar s Office personally to get it changed. The Registrar s Office will not make changes over the phone.
