We also reported on our future plans for furniture and carpet upgrades. Looking back on 2015, we accomplished a lot. Here s a rundown: I We replaced all of our wood-burning stoves with propanefired stoves. In 20 of our units, we replaced carpeting, sofas and chairs, and reupholstered the dining chairs to match. The remaining 10 units will likely receive their updated look in II Gas fireplaces installed in Buildings A and B in 1993 and 1994 were replaced with new, more efficient models that do not require constantly burning pilot lights. They heat better than the old units and save money on propane. In addition, Buildings A and B also received new carpeting, sofas and chairs, similar to what was installed in I. Buildings C and D will be similarly updated this fall (2016). Another minor change in WW II was the replacement of older concrete stair treads on Buildings B and D with galvanized steel treads that will last longer and offer better traction in the winter. I and II - Parking lots were all seal coated and restriped. The next time you come to visit or stay at, leave us a comment. We truly appreciate and value your input. new CLUBHOUSE HOURS Visit Your Resort anytime at: You asked and we listened. Many of our owners and guests have been asking for extended hot tub hours, especially on the weekends. After testing new, extended weekend hours in the first quarter of 2015, our Joint Use Committee and both Boards approved a permanent schedule change that began last fall (2015). The Clubhouse is now open during non-summer hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Summer season hours remain unchanged, with the Clubhouse open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. As always, the swimming pool, hot tub and sauna all close 15 minutes before the Clubhouse.
2 WHISPERING WOODS I ASSOCIATION NOTICE OF THE 2016 ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERS AND PROXY SOLICITATION The 2016 Annual Meeting of the Association of Unit Owners of Condominium ( I) will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 10 a.m. Please fill in, date, sign, and return the enclosed PROXY/ BALLOT CARD, whether or not you plan to be at the meeting. The PROXY/BALLOT will be used for the establishment of a quorum and for the election of two Board members. Such action will not affect your right to vote in person if you decide to attend the meeting. If a quorum is not represented at the meeting, either in person OR BY PROXY, the Association may be required to adjourn and reschedule the meeting AT ADDITIONAL ASSOCIATION EXPENSE PAID FOR FROM YOUR ASSESSMENTS. Therefore, you are urged to complete, sign and return the proxy card. Checking the blank marked Withhold will ensure that your proxy will not be voted BUT WILL STILL COUNT TOWARD THE QUORUM REQUIREMENT. The agenda for the meeting is as follows: 1. 3 ALL UNITS ARE NON SMOKINg Times are changing, and so are our laws. In recent years, all units became non-smoking units. To comply with Oregon law, smoking is not allowed inside our units or within 10 feet of any door or window, making decks and patios non-smoking areas as well. We are currently identifying a few designated smoking areas around the Resort where we will be building small shelters for those who want to smoke. The first shelter is currently under construction in II, between Buildings A and B. To eliminate any confusion about what is and is not considered to be smoking, the Resort s no smoking policy also includes e-cigarettes and marijuana. BONUS TIMe Have you ever wanted to get away from home for a couple of nights? If the answer is Yes, then Bonus Time may be perfect for you. I and II both offer Bonus Time reservation options. Plus, you can use Bonus Time in either location regardless of where you own. Bonus Time prices in I and II range from $39.00 to $69.00 per night Sunday through Thursday and $49.00 to $79.00 per night on the weekends. Here s the (not so) fine print: All Bonus Time is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations must be made Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and can be made a maximum of 21 days in advance. That means Bonus Time reservations can be made for the day you call and up to 3 weeks later. Weekends reservations require a 2 night stay and there is limited Bonus Time availability PLEASE REMEMBER OUR NO PET POLICy As a consideration for all of our owners and guests, we strictly enforce a NO PET POLICY in our timeshare units and on the grounds. No pets of any kind are allowed. Because many of us are animal and pet lovers ourselves, we appreciate those of you who travel with your pets and consider them a part of your family. For your next visit to, please make other arrangements for your pet or contact a pet boarding facility in the local area. If you are found with a pet at any time, you will be asked to remove your pet or check out of the Resort, and you will be fined $300. 5 WW II Reservations (for non-points owners) Have you made your 2017 use-week reservation? If the answer is no, please contact Reservations soon! The 2017 Reservation Period ran from October 1, 2015, through November 30, 2015, but it s not too late to make your 2017 reservation. If you plan to exchange your week through an exchange network, you must make a reservation first. Year-End Financial Reports Year-end financial reports will be complete and available by April 30, A copy will be posted on the resort website. If you wish to have a copy mailed to you, please contact Pat Easterbrooks, the resort General Manager, and one will be sent to you at no cost.
