1 December 2016 The time has once again come for our Annual Owner s Meeting scheduled to be held at the resort on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. The main purpose of an Annual Owner s Meeting is normally to elect a Board of Directors for the upcoming year. This year, when we sent out the request for candidates for the five Board positions, we only received back five candidate nomination forms, all of which were from the incumbent Board members. Therefore, pursuant to Florida statutes, an election is not required and the five candidates will automatically be elected to the five Board positions. For those of you who will not be able to attend the Annual Meeting, allow me to take the opportunity to provide you with some of the highlights for 2016 as follows: The resort was awarded the Silver Crown Award from RCI, the largest exchange company in the timeshare industry. This award, the second highest available, acknowledges the high level of service provided by our managers and their staff to make the vacation experience of our owners and guests the best it can be. We take this opportunity to thank our entire staff! We continue to upgrade the floor tiling in all units by the resort s in house highly experienced maintenance department. Unfortunately, removing existing tiles and installing new tiles does create some noise, so we would like to apologize in advance if you experience any noise during your visit. Please be assured that we will make a concerted effort to minimize this to a few hours one day a week..we asked for your patience and understanding during these times. Smart HD flat screen televisions have been installed in all second bedrooms in the lockout units, now allowing everyone to watch Netflix, Amazon or other favorite shows for which you may have an account. The hallways project is complete with new carpeting, ceilings, lights and paint. Wall pictures have been ordered and should be arriving shortly. New window coverings have been installed on the lobby windows. Tables and chairs at the pool have been replaced. A new state of the art waterproof covering has been installed on the 18th floor roof We have begun the replacement of all the unit air conditioning systems, which will be completed by the end of Although we will have our first maintenance fee increase in 7 years during 2017, this increase is only 4 tenths of 1%, or only $1-$4 per week, depending on unit size quite an accomplishment! Plans for various projects have been approved for 2017 and 2018 including renovation of the pool and pool deck and replacement of all unit appliances. Net Realty Services, the board approved real estate broker for our owner resales, will begin to provide onsite services in the early part of 2017 with an office in the lobby area. We expect 2017 to be better than ever at Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort as we continue plans to enhance services and upgrade the resort. We would like to thank all our owners who have already noticed these changes at the resort and have expressed their appreciation. Please take note of some important enclosures in this mailing as follows: PROXY-so that we may attain a quorum to hold the Annual Owner Meeting, please complete the proxy and return by the deadline of January 27, 2017 (please take care of this as soon as you complete reading this letter. thanks). CONSENT FORM-to save the resort, and thus you, money on future mailings, please complete the Consent Form, if you already haven t, allowing us to send you correspondence by rather than regular mail. This also enrolls you to receive our monthly newsletter which provides current news updates and now and then special owner perks.
