2 OBJECTIVE Fundamental analysis is the corner stone of investing. A sound investment decision involves performing fundamental analysis. Having a basic knowledge of fundamental analysis will give potential investor a better foundation for investment decisions but the subject is so broad it's tough to know how and where to start. A 2-day programme has been designed on fundamental analysis to help the participants understand core elements in fundamental analysis and understand why and how they should use it when investing. Key factors to look for to judge the true value of a stock. Analysis of all the critical fundamental ratios: PE, PB, EV/EBIDTA, Growth-Historical and forecasted. Comparing stocks with in the sector with different ratios to come up with undervalued and overvalued stocks. Identifying growth stocks and how growth is defined in terms of historical and forecasted growth. Using forecasted EPS as the key area for identifying growth analysis. Understanding how the domestic and global news and events impact on stocks. Importance of portfolio diversification for risk minimisation and need for rebalancing he portfolio, avoiding over exposure to sector. Practical examples from the industry will be discussed so that an overall confidence on the stock selection can be built. 1

3 Jagannadham Thunuguntla's Profile: Jagannadham Thunuguntla has completed his Executive Education in Harvard Business School. He is qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with All India 3rd Rank in CA Final and All India 4th Rank in CA Inter. Further, he is qualified Cost Accountant (ICWA) with All India 1st Rank in ICWA Final and All India 3rd Rank in ICWA Inter. He was awarded as "Best Equity Market Analyst" by the then Hon'ble Finance Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee in He is currently Head of Fundamental Research at Karvy Group heading the team of 30 fundamental research analysts carrying out research on more than 250 companies. He is editorial board member of Karvy Finapolis, the monthly personal finance magazine of Karvy group. Earlier, he was associated with Morgan Stanley Capital Markets in the investment banking having experience on various pitches for IPOs and follow-on offerings. He is currently on the board of Responsive Industries Limited (NSE and BSE listed company with Market Capitalization of Rs.2200 Crs) as Non-Executive Independent Director.
