2 The word SINDHU is a pious Term in Sanskrit referring to the River Indus flowing in the North-West part of India which is one of the most important of those that flow from the Himalaya originating in the Tibetan plateau in the vicinity of Lake Mansarovar. The word SINDHU is also referred to the Ocean or Sea. Similarly, Knowledge in the form JNYANA has to flow from all directions. Every professional, for being successful in his career, has to be updated with recent developments taking place not only in his subject-field but also with the changes taking place in the Global scenario every day. Knowledge needs enrichment. With this object in mind and to facilitate all members to study and discuss various burning topics of today s economic scenario and of legal importance, the Hubli Branch of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is organizing a two days conference at Hubli with this well choosen theme called JNYANA SINDHU. One year period has just been completed after implementing New GST Act in the country. It had many teething problems in the beginning which have been gradually solved out. So also, many amendments were made to the New Companies Act There are some practical issues of compliance and reporting requirement pervading in small & medium Enterprises viz., Accounting Standards etc. Further Professional Development Challenges & Various avenues in the changing scenario need to be discussed at length in this Conference. A technical session on a Mock Income Tax Appellate Tribunal Proceedings is also organized to enrich members and make them understand as to how proceedings take place in the ITAT Tribunals of the country. With this theme, the Management of Hubli Branch of S I R C of I C A I is confident that the members with the flow of knowledge will be much benefitted and remain continuous like a river flowing, developing cultural and professional civilization which is a must and need of the day.
