1 Proposed Agreement Summary Document The SDA and your Delegates have worked hard to get the best deal for BLDC workers. With the endorsement of the SDA and its members on site, we recommend this proposed new agreement to the employees of the BLDC. The SDA have worked extremely hard to achieve the best possible conditions and the highest pay rises. The following offer has been endorsed by the SDA as the best deal possible. We encourage all workers to VOTE YES to improve yours RATES and your RIGHTS. For a full time, level 2 employee this will mean an extra $30 per week. This will be backpaid to 2 August And this includes a sign on bonus of a $100 gift voucher. Saturday Loading Increased The ordinary Saturday loading will increase by 2.5% each year, until it reaches 35%. 3. Annual Leave Loading Increased From 17.5% to 20% - At the start of the new agreement. 4. TOIL for Working a Public Holiday - Where an employee elects to take TOIL for time worked on a public holiday (already a right under the current agreement), the employee will now have 60 days to take the TOIL, instead of the current 28 days. 5. Purchasing Additional Leave An employee can Salary Sacrifice to accrue up to an additional 2 weeks of paid leave. This is subject to the company s policies. 6. Annual Leave at Half Pay Employees would have the opportunity to take 2 weeks of their annual leave at half pay, increasing it to 4 weeks. This is subject to the company s policies. 7. Long Service Leave at Half Pay Employees would have the opportunity to take their long service leave at half pay, but for twice the number of weeks. This is subject to the company s policies. 8. Domestic Violence Leave - Employees would have the ability to use personal leave to attend medical/legal appointments, or assist family members to attend medical/legal appointments in the case of a domestic violence issue Days to Progress a Dispute The company would now have 14 days to respond to a dispute in writing at each step of the disputes procedure. Equally, employee will need to supply their initial dispute in writing and will have 14 days to progress a dispute to the next level of grievance, once they receive the company s response. 10. Notice of a Roster Change Employees would now receive 14 days notice of a change of roster instead of the current 7 days hour minimum engagement for training purposes only The company would be able to offer casual and part time employees 2 hour shifts for training purposes only. The acceptance of a 2 hour shift is by mutual agreement. 12. Removal of the 6th Hour Rule Meal breaks will no longer need to be taken before the completion of the 6th hour. They cannot be taken in the first or last hour, or within an hour of another break. 13. Superannuation Fund Choice Employees who do not wish to contribute their Superannuation to the default fund (REST), will have the freedom to pick any fund of their own choice. 14. Changes to Overtime Part time employees will only be entitled to overtime if they work more than 38 hours in a week, or more than 10 hours in a day. 15. Articles to be Supplied - Clause 8.11 of the current agreement has been changed to give employees more options regarding which articles of clothing are supplied by the company. 16. The Level 1 Permanent Rate Rises to $23.25 and is Then Frozen This rate will apply to new employees, employed after the new agreement is passed, and only for their first 12 months of employment. 17. Time Served at Level 1 Extended to 24 Months Team members who start after the proposed new agreement is passed will serve 24 months at level 1, but will receive a higher rate for the last 12 months, as shown in the table below.

Requirement to Produce Documentation for Part Shift Absences - if absent on personal leave for a part day either side of a public holiday, employees can be required to produce documentation to receive payment. 19. Forklift Licence Renewal Costs Paid by the Company. 20. Additional use of Annual Leave Entitlements Clarifying that a part time employee with sufficient leave, can take annual leave at their average number of hours per week, including the average flex up. 21. The introduction of an RDO System for Full Time Employees Effective 1 Day After the Expiry of the Agreement. 22. Minimum 1 Hour Notice to Casuals Where the company changes or cancels their shift. 23. A $100 Gift card for all employees
