1 Pay Scale Summary Update for SAPA Members Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 Pay rates effective from 1 July 2013 & 1 December 2013 Date of issue: 1 July 2013 The following Pay Scale Summary provides an outline of the rates of pay, loadings, penalty rates and allowances that will apply to employees covered and transitioning to the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 from the old Social and Community Services Employees (State) Award Queensland. The pay rates detailed herein reflect the recent Federal Minimum Wage increase effective 1 July November For ease of reference we also include the pay scales summary for wage increases payable under the Equal Remuneration Order (ERO) from 1 December June Equal Remuneration Order increases In addition to the Federal Minimum Wage order each year (on 1 July) the Equal Remuneration Order (ERO) by the Fair Work Commission will also gradually increase pay rates over the next 8 years from 1 December each year for social and community services and crisis accommodation employees covered under the Modern SACS Award. The ERO decision means that employees will receive two wage increases every year on 1 July and 1 December over the next eight years. To view the full modern award - Other transitional arrangements While transitional arrangements (from the old QLD SACS Award) DO NOT apply to base rates of pay they do apply to certain penalties and loadings such as casual loading. In the case of casual loading for example the rate under the old WA SACS Award was 20% and the new rate under the Modern SACS Award is 25%. As such Casual loading is transitioning from 20% to 25%. The current rate is 23% and on 1 July 2013 it will increase to 24% and the following year it will increase to 25%. Employers do not need to phase in the increases to casual loading they can pay 25% from 1 July 2013 if they chose to. Disclaimer: These pay rates are intended to provide a guide of general information and may be subject to change. The contents do not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. Formal advice addressing the specific needs of your organisation should be sought prior to implementing these rates if you are unsure. Please contact Employer Assist on MCILROY IR GROUP 2013
