1 Direct Entry Pre-Apprval Requirements fr Level II Technician Candidates The Direct Entry prgram is intended t allw rpe access technicians wh have btained rpe access skills and experience n an industrial tw rpe system, utside the SPRAT certificatin system, t be evaluated fr SPRAT certificatin at a level cmmensurate with their skill and experience. The Direct Entry prgram is nly available t individuals wh have nt previusly held any SPRAT certificatin. Direct Entry candidates shall submit the apprpriate dcumentatin t the Evaluatins Cmmittee fr review and apprval n less than six weeks in advance f the scheduled evaluatin date. This may be accmplished thrugh the evaluatin hst r training prvider. In additin t the required dcumentatin, a $250 applicatin fee will be assessed t all direct entry candidates at the time f applicatin submissin. This fee des nt cver the certificatin prcessing csts assessed fllwing a successful cmpletin f an evaluatin. Direct Entry Level II Level II technician candidates shall prvide dcumentatin f wrk experience emplying a tw-rpe system f at least 500 hurs (hurs shuld be signed ff by a supervisr, manager r client). Dcumentatin f wrk experience shuld include details f the type f wrk, dates f wrk, number f hurs n rpe and the frms f access (e.g. descending, ascending, rpe transfer, hauling, rigging, etc.). Candidates shall prvide a wrk at height resume that includes 2 prfessinal references, emplyers, pertinent experience, psitin(s), respnsibilities and previus training. As stated in Sectin 5.6 f the Evaluatin Guidelines: In a desire t recgnize industries akin t rpe access, wrk experience f similar industries will be cnsidered within the hurs presented fr Direct Entry Hurs presented that are nt traditinally cnsidered industrial rpe access shall nt cnstitute mre than 20% (100 hurs) f thse presented within an applicatin fr Direct Entry Level 2: These hurs may include: Rpe rescue training, instructin, and peratins. If tw rpes are used slely fr a training envirnment that is teaching single rpe technique, these hurs will nt be cunted. Bsun chair wrk, cntrlled descent, r rpe descent systems with an effective and separate vertical lifeline (backup) system.
