24 Summary Mid-year meatcase performance was up driven by increased performance across all three core species Fresh pork drove tonnage increases (reduced average price) while chicken and beef experienced slightly higher dollar gains Good growth was also seen for ham and turkey Species share was stable overall in dollars and pounds; fresh pork experienced higher tonnage shares Within fresh pork, all segments (except value added) were up Ribs, whole/half loins and steaks had the highest gains capturing share from chops and value added; boneless chops outperformed bone-in Within beef, lead segments were all up. For the most part mid-year gains outperformed annualized gains with increased pricing for all but steaks All chicken segments were up breast meat performance grew with reduced pricing.
