2 Page 2 ADDENDUM #1 Invitation for Bids (IFB) Smiley Court Demolition ISSUED 05/30/2014 Pre-Bid Conference The Housing Authority of the City of Montgomery (MHA) held a pre-bid conference for the Smiley Court Demolition on Thursday, May 21, 2014 on site at Smiley Court. The following is a brief summary of the meeting and items that were discussed: The meeting was opened by Rickey Miles, MHA s Modernization Coordinator, who requested that each MHA Staff participant introduce themselves. Mr. Miles then turned the meeting over to Karen Reynolds and Cale Smith to provide an overview of the scope of services for the project. Ms. Reynolds made a few brief comments before Mr. Smith provided the scope, which included the demolition of four buildings. Mr. Miles provided a brief overview of the HUD Section 3 requirements and the Davis-Bacon Wage Rates for the project as provided in the IFB. Sharon Simpkins-Jones, MHA s Procurement/Contract Administrator discussed the procurement process and an overview of the bid submission process. The participants were provided an opportunity to ask questions and the following is a summary of questions/answers at the meeting: Q.1. A.1. Q.2. A.2. Q.3. A.3. Q.4. Yes, the contractor must provide documentation from the landfill. Bids should be written in a concise, straightforward and forthright manner. Superficial marketing statements and materials should be avoided.
