Flat fees and deposits must be paid at the time of submittal. If a deposit is required, fees will be charges against the deposit. 9 Appeal to Hearing Examiner, for building permit decisions or code interpretations Investigation Fees Investigation fees are charged whenever any work for which a permit is required was started without obtaining a permit. A special investigation will be completed before a permit is issue. The investigation fee, in addition to the permit fee, shall be collected whether or not a permit is then or subsequently issued. The investigation fee shall be equal to the amount of the permit fee required, unless the Building Official determines specific circumstances warrant a reduced fee.
