Building Permits: The valuation determined for a project shall be by legal means and used in determining fees as stipulated by the 1997 Uniform Building Code method. This provides for the fee to be adjusted in accordance with the total cost of the project. The 1997 UBC document is available on the State of Minnesota Website and offered as an option for jurisdictions to use when calculating fees. a. Each additional 1,000 linear feet: $ Professional Fees: Professional Fees and Escrow Amounts: The applicant and/or property owner shall be responsible for all City-incurred professional fees and expenses associated with the processing of this request and enforcing the terms of the application agreement(s) including, but not limited to, attorney s fees, engineering or planning fees. The fees will be promptly paid upon billing by the City in the event the escrow fund is depleted and payment will be received within 10 days of the date of the invoice. Bills not paid within the 30 days of request for payment by the City shall accrue interest at the rate of 6% per year. Any failure on the part of the applicant or property owner to pay amounts owed, may result in the City certifying such costs against the property for collection with the real estate taxes. The City may approve a special assessment for which the property owner specifically agrees to be to be assessed for 100 percent per annum and waives any and all appeals under Minnesota Statutes The City may also take necessary legal action to recover such costs to which the City shall be entitled, including attorney s fees, engineering, planning and other costs incurred by the City as a result of such legal action. All fees and expenses are due whether the application is approved or denied. If the escrow amount is depleted, the applicant and/or property owner shall furnish additional monies as requested by the City within 30 days of such request. Any amounts not utilized from this escrow fund shall be returned to the applicant and/or property owner, without interest, when all financial 12
