2 Introduction The company was incorporated in May 2008 as a joint venture between RAK Ceramics Holding and Electro RAK L.L.C. and was christened Emirates Heavy Engineering, a name that is synonymous with Civil, Mechanical & Infrastructure projects today. With the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah transforming into an industrial hub, a niche was created for any enterprising company with the vision and technical expertise to establish itself as a major player in the power plant erections as well as the Electrical, Civil, Mechanical and Infrastructural engineering field. Today, with several multi million dollar projects completed on turnkey basis and several more in the pipeline, Emirates Heavy Engineering is not only proud to have been closely associated with the metamorphosis of Ras Al Khaimah but continues to strive towards many more milestones in the years to come. 3 Mechanical Engineering The Mechanical Engineering division is one of the strongest aspects of the organization and has contributed immensely to the meteoric rise of Emirates Heavy Engineering in the engineering contracting sector. However, within a short span of time, the unit has to its credit several high profile projects and high profile clients. 6 Departments Human Resources The company s activities are given shape to by a dedicated team of senior managers, engineers, administrative staff, technicians and helpers. Emirates Heavy Engineering believes that its employees are its greatest assets and enjoys the services of a 400 plus committed workforce. Finance and Administration Department The finance department is run by a team of highly qualified professionals being led by a senior accountant. This team is comprised of Chartered Accountants, Cost & Management Accountants and finance majors. The team, like any other within the organization, has been trained and is well versed in the engineering & construction Industry. The ability to arrange for project financing through well established local and international banks as well as financial institutions operating in the Gulf forms just one of the competencies of the staff. The team carries out its activities with dedication with the emphasis being placed on the team. Technical Department Our technical departments are, again, managed by highly qualified professionals. The department heads are experts in their own fields who strive tirelessly to conform to the very high standards they have set themselves over time. Our skilled departments could be listed as follows: Tender & Estimation Duties here include preparation of detailed Bill of Quantities and evaluation of the project as per the Consultant s design drawings and specifications. Design & Drafting The design department consists of five highly skilled and experienced engineers aided by six draughtsman performing concept design, engineering design, shop drawing and as built drawings for all projects. Planning & Quantity Survey Here, the duties include preparation of the take-off quantity and comparison of these quantities with the approved drawings for any variation in quantities and dimensions. Providing accurate project programs and monitoring of these programs for proper identification of any cause of delay of the project. Checking work notifications for missed items for preparing the monthly payment certificates.

7 Business Development The business development department, acts as the bridge between the customers and our project team, and is comprised of qualified and experienced professionals who work closely with senior management in identifying customer requirements. Developing new strategies for marketing, maintaining healthy relationships with the clients and forever working out ways to achieve higher degrees of customer satisfaction form the basic roles of our business development staff. Project Execution We have an execution team composed of a hardworking office staff, 400 skilled and unskilled labors and 19 Engineers, each with their own field of expertise responsible for proper coordination between site works, the procurement of materials, machinery and other items necessary for smooth project completion.
