1 CARTUS CARES 2017 GIVING CAMPAIGN FAQS How do I log on to the Giving Matters 365 site? Access the Giving Matters 365 website via the links folder on your desktop OR Access the Giving Matters 365 website by cutting and pasting the following address into your web browser: Your sign in credentials are: Username: WWID Password: cartuscares *Please confirm that your Username (WWID) appears on the upper right hand corner of your screen after login. Human error while typing your password could inadvertently result in you logging in as a colleague For security purposes, you must change your password once logged into the site for the first time by clicking your Username/UserID on the upper right hand corner of homepage and then clicking Change Password. I am new to the company and cannot access the web site. Please contact tiffany.snowden@cartus.com at if you have problems accessing the site. How do I view my Giving History from last year? Since we have changed to a new site this year, you will not be able to see your giving history. Beginning next year, giving history will once again be available. Can I designate my donation to a foreign based non profit? Sorry, but money cannot cross borders. Money may be donated to a charity based in the United States that supports international aid, but money cannot be sent directly to an agency outside of the US. 1 of 5
2 Will the company match donations made via the annual Giving Campaign? No, contributions that are made in connection with major Realogy/Business Unit sponsored or sanctioned charitable support, organized fundraisers are not eligible for the Charitable Match Program. Are there any limitations to the charity/charities I choose? You can elect to designate your pledge to any legally recognized 501(c)(3) organization in good standing with the IRS. A minimum annual donation of $52 is required per agency/charity and there is a maximum of 3 write in designations. If your charity isn t included in the Charity Picker section of Giving Matters 365, the platform will allow you to write in a charity of your choice. WRITE IN PROCESS: The write in option will be the last choice on the last page in the Charity Picker section. (See Graphic #1) 1. Click this to jump to the last page of the Charity Picker 2. Click Add next to Write In 3. A new window will open which shows the information required to write in a charity. (See Graphic #2 on Page 3) Required information is: Charity Name Phone Number Website URL EIN Street Address, City, State, Postal Code Graphic #1: Locating the Write In Option 2 of 5
3 Graphic #2: Required Fields to Give to a Write In Charity Will I be notified if my organization is determined ineligible? Community Health Charities will attempt to contact you if your 501(c)(3) designated organization is not legally recognized, is not in good standing with the IRS or is not in compliance with the USA Patriot Act. At that time, you can change your pledge to an eligible charity. If we cannot reach you, your gift will be used by Community Health Charities to support all charity partners. Are fees deducted from my pledge for processing payroll deductions? What percentage of my pledge goes to my non profit? There is no processing fee deducted when making donations through the Giving Matters 365 website. As a thank you to our dedicated employees, Cartus pays the processing fee to the campaign processor. This means that 100% of your donation is sent to your designated charity! Where do I bring my check if I elect to make lump sum donation? Make your check payable to COMMUNITY HEALTH CHARITIES, note CARTUS A in the memo section and forward to: Attn: Tiffany Snowden 8081 Royal Ridge Parkway, Suite 200 Irving, TX of 5
4 Why hasn t my check cleared? Please expect a delay from the time you forward your check to when it clears your bank account. All checks are forwarded to United Way and Community Health Charities for deposit after the campaign has been closed and subsequently reconciled. How can I track the status of my donation distributions and confirm my gift throughout the year? To check on the status of your donation, first contact the non profit where you designated your gift. If the organization indicates they have not yet received funds, please contact Community Health Charities at info@healthcharities.org. *Although payroll deductions begin with your first paycheck in 2018, there will be a delay before first payment is made to Community Health Charities and passed on to your designated charity. All payments will occur monthly thereafter. *Only the monthly amount deducted from your paycheck is paid to the non profit on monthly basis. 100% of your designation will not be paid to your designated charity until the month following our last payment to Community Health Charities. Is my gift tax deductible? For your gift to be tax deductible, you must make a charitable contribution to qualified organization. For contributions made by check or payroll deduction, you must keep one of the following: A bank record that shows the name of the qualified organization, the date of the contribution and the amount of the contribution. Bank records may include: o A cancelled check o A bank or credit union statement A receipt (or a letter of other written communication) from the qualified organization showing the name of the organization, the date of the contribution and the amount of the contribution. The payroll deduction record, such as: o A pay stub, Form W 2, or other document furnished by your employer that shows the date and amount of the contribution, and o A pledge card or other document prepared by or for the qualified organization that shows the name of the organization. Why am I receiving recognition from Community Health Charities? Since Cartus uses Community Health Charities as our campaign administrator, receipt of your pledge is ed to you once you have completed your gift in the Giving Matters 365 site. 4 of 5
5 Will the organization know that my donation came from me? When reviewing your gift in the Giving Matters 365 site, if you do not check the box titled Please do not share my name with my designated charity, your designated charity will be notified that you donated to their organization. A report including all donors and pledge amounts will be sent to the designated organizations no later than with the first disbursement made by Community Health Charities. *Community Health Charities sends one donor report with each payment to each designated organization, so some reports may include a large number of donors. It is up to the organization to read the reports that accompany the payments as well as send out donation acknowledgements. *If you, as the donor, decide to follow up with your designated organization directly, please refer to your donation as: Payment on behalf of the Cartus Giving Campaign from Community Health Charities Will the organization contact me for any reason? When reviewing your gift in the Giving Matters 365 site, if you do check the box titled Please do not contact me, you should not be contacted by your designated charity. If you receive unwanted contact, please report this to Community Health Charities at info@healthcharities.org. Will my charitable contribution via the Cartus Cares Giving Campaign be pre tax dollars or after tax dollars? Contributions made via the Cartus Cares Giving Campaign are after tax dollars. 5 of 5
