1 The Corporation of Delta COUNCIL REPORT Regular Meeting To: Mayor and Council File No.: /NDMLA From: Parks, Recreation & Culture Department Date: February 22,2013 North Delta Minor Lacrosse Association Licence Renewal The following report has been reviewed and endorsed by the Chief Administrative Officer. RECOMMENDATIONS: A. THAT the renewal of the licence agreement between the Corporation of Delta and the North Delta Minor Lacrosse Association for use of the storage space at the Sungod Recreation Centre be approved, generally in the form presented in Attachment A.. B. THAT the Mayor and Municipal Clerk be authorized to execute the Licence Agreement on behalf of the Corporation of Delta. PURPOSE: To approve the renewal of the licence agreement between the Corporation of Delta (Delta) and the North Delta Minor Lacrosse Association (Association) for the use of the storage space located at the Sungod Recreation Centre ( Street). BACKGROUND: The current licence agreement expires on April 30, 2013 and contains a provision for a further three year renewal term. The Association has requested renewal of the licence agreement for the storage space at the Sungod Recreation Centre (Attachment B). Council Policy: Council approves all legal agreements. DISCUSSION: The Association has a provision for further renewal. The renewal term for the licence agreement between Delta and the Association is for a three year period; May 1, 2013 to April 30, After that date, the Association has no further right to renew.

2 Page 2 of2 North Delta Minor Lacrosse Association Licence Renewal /NDMLA February 22,2013 At its February 21, 2013 Regular Meeting, the Parks, Recreation & Culture Commission endorsed the recommendations contained within this report. Implications: Financial Implications - The licence agreement includes the standard Licence Fee of $1.80 per 315 sq. ft. per year, plus applicable taxes, and the Lifecycle Maintenance Contribution of $1.00 x 315 sq. ft. per year, plus applicable taxes, over the term of use. The net cost to the Association will be $882.00, plus all applicable taxes for the term of the agreement CONCLUSION: The licence agreement is in keeping with standard practices used for all not-for-profit organizations who utilize space within municipal buildings.
