5 What everyone should know about State Tech! State Tech is Missouri s only Public Technical College with a statewide mission. They offer specialized technical programs and do it better than anyone. There are nearly 1500 two-year schools in the county, State Tech is nationally ranked and among the top 3%. The 360-acre campus has on-campus dorms and an extensive game and fitness center that is open until Midnight 7 days a week. 10 years after graduation a State Tech alumni will have an average salary over 10% higher than the average of the state s regional four-year universities and nearly 30% higher than public two-year colleges. State Tech students get an academic grade, job readiness score, and attendance percentage. These measures give employers what they are looking for in today s high performing workforce. A typical State Tech student receives 30% more hands on instruction than students from similar colleges. A State Tech student is out of college debt in an average of only 4.1 years. State Tech s placement rate is 97%. A student who wants a job will have one at graduation. Graduation and retention rates are third in the State after the Univ. of Missouri System and the highly selective Truman State University. State Tech holds nearly a dozen current national rankings. Several top ten in the country (out of nearly 1500 two-year colleges). One agency ranks State Tech 15 th in the country for getting students jobs. 100% of State Tech s degree programs require transferrable general education. A graduate can get a job and pay for a four-year degree if they choose without additional debt. State Tech has several partner programs, identical to an Apprenticeship program, where they can work and go to school at the same time. Graduates may have no debt and a job waiting for them at graduation. Industry drives our curriculum. Every graduate is getting an education based upon the skills employers want. These are all reasons why we like to say, From the Classroom to Your Career We are the Employers Choice! 2
