. Main Fund Centre Upon accessing the fund centre, users will be taken to the main Fund Information page. The Fund Information Tab lists all Aviva funds. This tab shows key information including:. Name the name of the fund.. Risk Ratings the level of risk of the fund from Very Low Risk () to Very High Risk (7). These ratings are updated quarterly. For more details of how we risk rate our funds please see the Your Investment Options brochure or the Understanding our risk ratings sales aid in the Broker Resources and Tools section of 3. Citicode - a unique identifier code for a fund to help you find your fund easily. If you re not sure what fund your customer is invested in you can contact our Broker Services team on and quote their policy number. They will be able to identify the fund name and citicode of your fund (s). 4. Price the current bid price of the fund represented in euros. 5. Price Date the date of the current price. 6. Change - the change in monetary value in comparison to the price at the previous price date. 7. Change (%) informs on the percentage drop or increase in performance. This too is colour coded with either a green plus or red minus to indicate an increase or drop in performance respectively. 8. Closed to new business: This indicates if the fund is or is not available to new investments. If No is indicated this means the fund is available to new investments. 9. Allows you to chart the performance of your fund and compare its performance to other funds and sector averages. 0. Allows access to HTML fund factsheets. In these fund summaries, performance is updated daily and other fund information is updated monthly or quarterly.. Allows access to PDF fund factsheets. In these fund summaries, performance is updated monthly and other fund information is updated monthly or quarterly Page 5
3. Fund Performance Tracking As well as pricing information, by moving through the information tabs, you may also view key performance information. All options allow users to view tabular performance information, based on the last available price as at the date specified to the top right hand corner of the performance tables (circled below in yellow for reference). The tabs include: 3. Cumulative Performance The total amount of return generated by the fund within the investment period. For example, if a fund had a starting price of and three years later the fund had a price of.33 the cumulative return is 33%. 3. Annualised Performance: The average return per year over the time period. For example, if a fund has produced a return of 33.% over three years, on average the fund would have produced a return of 0% a year (.0*.0*.0=.33). 3.3 Discrete Performance: Where each year s performance is considered at an individual level. In the example below, 0-m performance is performance from 0/04/03 to 0/04/04, -4m performance is from 0/04/0 0/04/03 etc Page 6
3.4 Calendar Performance: the fund s return for the calendar year 3.5 Risk Tracking: Risk statistics quoted as based on three years performance data. They are updated once per month. If a fund has a track record of shorter than one year - will appear. The Risk tab allows you to view the following risk attributes per fund: Risk measure Volatility Max Loss Max Gain Sharpe Beta Positive periods Negative periods Description Standard Deviation is a commonly used measure of risk. Specifically, it measures the variability of actual returns from their expected (average) values and the dispersion of these variations over time. The higher the standard deviation the wider the dispersions from their mean, and generally, the greater the risk due to the lower predictability of returns. For example, if a fund had an average return of 5%, and its volatility was 5, this would mean that the range of its returns over the period had swung between +0% and -0%. Another fund with the same average return and 5% volatility would return between 0% and nothing. Standard Deviation is more commonly referred to as volatility. The figures shown are calculated over 3 years to the last month end. Represents the worst possible investment period. The figures shown are calculated over 3 years to the last month end. Represents the best possible investment period. The figures shown are calculated over 3 years to the last month end. This is a commonly-used measure which calculates the level of a fund's return over and above the return of a notional risk-free investment, such as cash or Government bonds. The difference in returns is then divided by the fund's standard deviation - its volatility, or risk measurement. The resulting ratio is an indication of the amount of excess return generated per unit of risk. The higher the Sharpe ratio, the better the portfolio s risk adjusted performance. The figures shown are calculated over 3 years to the last month end. Beta is a measure of a fund s volatility (standard deviation) relative to that of its benchmark, i.e. how sensitive the fund is to movements in the section of the market that comprises the benchmark. A positive Beta indicates that the fund moves broadly in the same direction as the benchmark, while a negative Beta indicates that a fund will move in the opposite direction to the benchmark. For example, a fund with a Beta close to will have experienced movements broadly in line with the benchmark, whilst a fund with a Beta of. suggests that the movement of the fund is. times that of the benchmark. The figures shown are calculated over 3 years to the last month end. Indicates number of positive monthly returns. The figures shown are calculated over 3 years to the last month end. Indicates number of negative monthly returns. The figures shown are calculated over 3 years to the last month end. Page 7
4 Filtering Funds 4. Filtering out Specific Funds Filtering options can be accessed at the top of the fund centre. There are 3 ways funds may be filtered:. Filtering via the Search Box To filter using the search box, start typing in the name of a fund you wish to access into the box on the left hand side (), and then select the search button (). A list of relevant funds will appear for selection (3). 3 Page 8
4.3 Filtering via Fund Type You can filter for specific fund types (for example, Gross Funds, Pension Funds, PRSA funds) by selecting the Fund Type drop down at the top of the page (). Adding Funds to the Basket To select specific funds click on the green plus to the left hand side of that fund (). This will add the chosen fund to your basket (). This basket stores a short list of all selected funds. When funds have been selected a red minus will show beside the fund (). To open the basket, click on the green basket tab () on the basket tab. The basket provides a drop down of all funds previously added to the basket. You may also select one of three actions noted in the Actions box at the bottom of the drop down. (3). Page 0
4 5 may de-select funds by clicking on the red minus to the left of the fund name. Add to Portfolio This icon will transfer all funds within the basket into the portfolio shortlist section tab (4). This is essentially a mini fund centre of those funds specifically chosen by you. Chart all This allows charting of all funds within the basket tab. Empty Basket This option allows the removal of all funds within the basket. To close basket, click on the X (5). Page
6. Portfolio Builder The Portfolio Builder allows you to create a fund portfolio specifically for your client s needs. To get started follow these steps:. Shortlist funds from the Fund Information Tab into the Basket.. In the basket, click on the Add to Shortlist action tab in the basket dropdown. 3. You will be automatically brought to the Portfolio tab with your added shortlisted funds. 4. In the Portfolio tab assign specific weightings to each fund, or, use the Sigma button () to assign equal weightings to all funds within the portfolio builder. Within the Portfolio tab you can navigate between the performance and risk tabs allowing you to explore the performance on the specific funds you have shortlisted only. Page
6. Creating a Portfolio Scan The portfolio scan feature allows you to quickly model your customers existing or proposed investment portfolio. It also allows you to create professional customer specific reports to present to your customers. When weightings have been assigned in the portfolio builder, you can produce a portfolio scan report.. Select the Portfolio Scan option beneath the portfolio builder (). This will then activate a Portfolio Details pop up box ().. Input client specific information on the Portfolio Details pop up box. These fields are not mandatory, but simply designed to help you differentiate between different portfolios which have been built. 3. Once all of the required information has been inputted, select the green arrow at the bottom right hand side of the box (3). 3 This navigates to a second pop up box which requires you to select your benchmark (4). There are two steps.. Selected a sector as a benchmark. This can either be selected via the sector drop down (5a.), or by selecting the weighted sector average of all those funds within the portfolio report (5b).. Select a time period. Again, this can either be selected using the options within the dropdown (6a.), or by manually typing in a user specified start date (6b). Unlike the previous pop up, the selection of both a sector and time period are mandatory and must be selected before proceeding to create the portfolio scan (7). 5a 6a 5b 6b Page 3
7. The Portfolio Scan Report The Portfolio Scan provides key portfolio information in a tabular format. You can navigate your way through different sections of the portfolio scan by selecting the appropriate tabs at the top of the page: 7. Portfolio Composition Tab This presents information on what funds and weightings the portfolio in question consists of. The portfolio details entered in the previous pop up s are displayed at the top of this page (). If no portfolio details were inputted into the portfolio details pop-up as previously mentioned, nothing will pull through for this section, and the report will instead display the benchmark information only (). The various tabs available in this section are described overleaf. Page 4
7. Asset Split The Asset Split tab provides an asset split breakdown for the portfolio as a whole (), as well as for the individual holdings of the portfolio (). 7.3 Geographical Split and Sector Split The Geographical and Sector Split tabs provide geographical and sector breakdowns for the portfolio as a whole (), as well as for the individual holdings of the portfolio (). Page 5
7.4 Cumulative Performance on the portfolio scan report This tab plots the cumulative performance of the portfolio against the chosen benchmark, over the specified time period chosen at the outset of creating the portfolio (). Displayed beneath the chart are (): The performance information for the portfolio The chosen benchmark Each individual holding of the portfolio Please note: Performance calculations are as at the date specified beneath the charting information (circled in yellow below for your reference). 7.5 Discrete Performance on the portfolio scan report Using the same display as the cumulative performance tab, the discrete performance tab plots discrete performance against the chosen benchmark, over the specified time period chosen at the outset of creating the portfolio (). Displayed beneath the chart are (): The performance information for the portfolio The chosen benchmark Each individual holding of the portfolio Page 6
7.6 Risk on the portfolio scan report This tab plots risk (volatility) against return (% return) of both the portfolio and its chosen benchmark using a scatter chart (). The scatter chart in the portfolio scan report will be plotted over the time period chosen and the volatility will be calculated on this time period to last month end, using the fund s benchmark and when not available using the funds sector. The return period will be monthly. If you change the time period the volatility will be recalculated based on this new time period. Much like both the cumulative and discrete performance tabs, tabular information can also be viewed for individual holdings as well as for the portfolio and its benchmark underneath the chart (). 7.7 Top Holdings This tab provides a breakdown of the top 0 holdings of the portfolio, along with their % weightings. 7.8 Exporting the Portfolio Scan Report to PDF At any given time whilst in the portfolio scan, you have the option to produce a printable PDF version of the report. Simple click on the button at the bottom of the page to generate a PDF report, which you can print or scan. Page 7
8. Comparison Report Within the portfolio builder, there is also an option to produce a comparison report (). This report compares the composition and performance of your customer s funds side by side. To create the comparison report, follow these steps:. Select the funds you want to compare by ticking the box to the left hand of side of the fund. A maximum of 5 funds may be selected for a comparison report.. Click the Comparison Report button. 3. Input a small amount of client specific information into the report details pop-up box. Fields are not mandatory. 4. Click the Create Comparison Report button. Once the report has been created, you will be navigated to a printable PDF report, providing a side by side comparative breakdown of all chosen funds. Page 8
9. Accessing Charting The Charting section of our Fund Centre allows you to track the performance of a fund on a chart over a selected time period. You can also track the performance of multiple funds. There are 3 ways of accessing the performance charting section of the Fund Centre.. Via the access chart icon which appears to the right of each fund.. Via the chart all icon in the basket. 3. You can select a range of funds from your shortlist, and access charting by selecting the chart all option to the bottom of the shortlist. 9. Charting page The charting page consists of three main sections: The Performance Chart You can visually plot the cumulative performance of a fund or group of funds over a specified time period (). The Interactive Toolbar You can zoom in on a particular time period. This is achieved by moving, reducing, and/or expanding the toolbar to capture the required time period (). Performance Information Tab this provides performance information on all those funds selected for charting. You can view either cumulative, discrete, or calendar information on those selected funds by selecting the tabs accordingly (3). Please Note: by selecting one of the three tabs (either cumulative, discrete, or calendar), this will update the tabular information accordingly. However, the performance line chart will always remain as a measure of cumulative performance only. Page 9
3 9. Selecting Time Periods There are two alternative ways of selecting time periods over which to plot information for your chart.. Select a time period from the time period tab ().. The interactive toolbar () can be used to slide across and zoom in on a particular time period of interest. Page 0
9.3 Selecting a Chart Basis Charts are based on % return as default. However, you may alter this so that it is based on a currency return instead. To do this select the Chart Basis tab located to the top left hand corner of the chart select Currency Return, along with specifying the return amount: 9.4 Selecting Funds within the Charting Tool Additional funds can also be selected for charting in the tool. Use the filters located above the chart, Select a Sector or Select Fund to find the fund you want to add Click on the Add to chart button on the right hand side (). This will add the selected fund to your chart and also as an addition to the tabular information below the chart () Funds can be removed from the charting page by selecting the icon within the performance table If you wish for a fund to remain on the performance table but would like to remove it from the performance chart, de-select the ticked box to the left hand side of the fund name within the performance table. To re-add, re-select. Please note: the funds you are able to select from the filters are dependent upon the tab you are sitting in and whether those funds are available in that particular tab (3). 3 Page
9.5 Scatter Chart You also have the option to chart risk against return by selecting the Scatter Chart option. The scatter chart in the charting tool will default to a three year time period and the volatility will be calculated on this time period to last month end, using the fund s benchmark and when not available using the funds sector. The return period will be monthly. If the user changes the time period the volatility will be recalculated based on this new time period. Using the scatter chart you can continue to select time periods using the Time Period tab located to the top right hand corner of the chart. You can also re-base your chart using the Chart Basis option in the same location. The fund filters remain at the top of the charting page, and the performance information at the bottom of the page, allowing you to de-select and re-select funds to appear in the scatter chart. 9.6 Exporting to PDF You can export charts to PDF by selecting the export to PDF button located at the bottom on the page, below the tabular information: This requires access to Adobe Acrobat Reader to read these PDF reports. Page
