1 Astronomical Society of the Pacific. 7i Meeting of the Newly Elected Board of Directors of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, held in.the Rooms of the Society, 752 Phelan Building, San Francisco, on January 31, 1914, at 10:00 p. m. There were present Directors Crawford, Cushing, Baird, Cornish, Burckhalter, and Richardson. The Board-proceeded to organize by electing the following officers, 11 of whom were unanimously elected: For President R. T. Crawford. For First Vice-President R. G. Aitken. For Second Vice-President S. D. Townley. For Third Vice-President C. S. Cushing. For Secretary and Treasurer D. S. Richardson. For Secretary on Mt. Hamilton R. G. Aitken. For Donohoe Comet-Medal Committee W. W. Campbell, R. H. Tucker, and S. D. Townley. For Library Committee D. S. Richardson, F. V. Cornish, and A. H. Markwart. The President appointed the following members to serve on the Finance Committee: C. S. Cushing, Wm. H. Crocker, and A. H. Markwart. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously carried, instructing the President and Secretary to prepare a suitable letter of condolence for transmital to the family of the late Sir David Gill, and to the Royal Astronomical Society of England, expressiye of the respect in which that distinguished scientist was held by the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, of which he was Bruce Medalist for Adjourned.
