You can go to their website, click on the link that says Click here to make a reservation, choose Camp Whitsett under any type and select the dates that you want to participate in the rafting activities. After clicking on Go, a schedule will come up with available trips and you can go ahead and make your reservation. Use the coupon codes that are listed below so that you get the Special Camp Whitsett price. They will still have a representative from their company meet you on the Sunday that you arrive for any last minute scheduling or changes. Please use a separate sheet for each different adventure the boys will be attending. You can use this to keep track of which scouts are attending which trip, who has paid, and who has handed in a release forms. Release Form There is a copy of the current release form included in this online form. Each scout will need to have this filled out by an adult prior to arrival and brought with them the day of their trip. Float Notes This is important information regarding Sierra South s programs. Available Activities: Lickety Split Their world-famous Lickety-Split raft trip is far and away the most popular and affordable Class 2-3 whitewater rafting run available on the Kern River. It is full of enough excitement to challenge just about everyone. Before your river trip, a Sierra South professional river guide will provide you with a trip overview, paddling gear and a paddle talk. Then it's anchors away for three miles of jam-packed action on Kern River rapids such as Little Mama, Big Daddy, Straight Shot, Freight Train, and Ewings. Pre requisite is a canoeing and swimming merit badge. Lunch is provided by Camp Whitsett and arrangements need to be made with them prior to the trip so that lunches can be ready the morning of the trip. The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death. 2. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the Releasees or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation. 3. If I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately. 4. This will allow sufficient time to check-in, sign release forms and change into wetsuits, if needed. Our trips must leave on schedule. Don t miss the boat! Additional info is available from the Kernville Chamber at or the Forest Service at FINDING US From Los Angeles: Take Interstate 5 North to Highway 99N to Bakersfield. In Bakersfield, take the 178 East exit to Lake Isabella (approx. 50 miles). Part of 178 is curvy, please drive safely. From Lake Isabella, take the Highway 155/Kernville exit towards Kernville (appox. 10 miles). Once in Kernville, go over the bridge and Sierra South will be on the right side with a yellow kayak on top of the store. From the San Diego/Inland Empire: Take Interstate 15 N and Hwy 395 N to Inyokern where you will turn onto Hwy 178 W. You will connect with Hwy 14 South for a short distance before continuing on 178 W towards Lake Isabella. After traveling for approx. 30 miles on 178 W, you will come to a big Kernville sign, turn right onto Sierra Way and go approx. 15 miles. As you enter Kernville, make a left onto Kernville Road. Sierra South Mountain Sports is located 2 blocks on the left, before the bridge. Look for the yellow kayak on top of the store. Parking: Frandy Park next to Sierra South provides public parking for a fee. Some additional space may be available in front of our store or on side streets. Please do not park at someone else s business.

The knowledgeable staff is always ready to provide expert advice on a broad range of paddling activities and trip needs. See the Wetsuit Rental form for more information. On certain earlyseason trips when water and weather conditions dictate, we may require or recommend all passengers wear wetsuits. Advanced rental reservations are recommended and on a 1st come 1st serve basis. Book as soon as possible. Many early-season weekends will sell out. A wetsuit package includes Farmer John wetsuit, paddle jacket & booties. GRATUITIES (TIPS) Guests often ask if tipping is appropriate for our staff. Yes, if you feel that your guide did an outstanding job, a tip is a great way to show your appreciation. They will be thrilled! TRAVEL INSURANCE We recommend you supplement personal insurance with travel insurance. Cancellation initiated by you may result in substantial loss of fees paid. Vacation insurance protection protects against the loss of deposits in the event you must cancel because of unforeseen circumstances. Optional Travel insurance is available at CANCELLATIONS You may cancel 45 or more days before your Sierra South trip date and receive a full refund less a $25 processing fee per person. Cancellations made 44 days or less before trip date are non-refundable. If you must cancel, try to find a friend to take your space. All trips go rain or shine. However, we reserve the right to cancel a trip due to water conditions or insufficient reservations, in which case only trip fees are refundable. Refunds cannot be granted by guides and must be approved by our main office. No refunds will be given if you leave a trip or class early for any reason. Sierra South is not liable for other costs incurred in association with a cancelled trip. We suggest trip insurance such as to cover any unexpected situations. RESPONSIBILITY/LIABILITY All of Sierra South s trips and classes involve physical activity and include certain elements of risk. We make every effort to run our trips in the most professional and in the safest manner possible. However, we cannot guarantee your safety. Trip participants should understand that river trips involve known and unknown risks. We do not assume liability for personal injury or deaths. It is YOUR responsibility to evaluate your level of fitness and to select a trip or class which is appropriate for you. Seek medical advice before your trip if you question your physical condition. Sierra South assumes no responsibility for vehicles and/or contents of vehicles parked during the trip. Everyone will be required to sign a release of liability and assumption of risk form before departure. Minors under 18 not accompanied by their parents must bring a release form signed by their parent or legal guardian.
