3 3 German Insurance Association why we are here GDV invites the insurance associations, regulators and market participants to share best-practice experiences and prepare together for the upcoming European future demands of our industry. 10 June 2015: The workshop is focusing on various technical aspects of insurance business lines: property, motor insurance and MTPL, NatCat losses, distribution channels and bancassurance. The main objective is educating and sharing experiences. 11 June 2015: Joint Meeting with the representatives of the Western Balkan insurance associations and regulators. The main objective is getting acquainted with each other and discussing possible further cooperation.

4 4 German Insurance Association why we are here As a member of The Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations, GDV supports and strengthens the growing economic ties with Eastern and Southeastern European countries and regions. GDV delegations in Croatia and Slovenia 2012; Meetings with Serbian Regulator (next: 25 June 2015 in Berlin); Regular conferences with Association for Insurance Law of Serbia. On 28 August 2014, German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Gabriel opened the high-level Western Balkans Business Conference in Berlin. He met with his counterparts from Albania, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Croatia, FYROM, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia, and with Vice-President of the European Commission Günther Oettinger. Germany is one of the most important economic partners for the states in the Western Balkans and has thus had a very positive impact on development in the region. Trade between Germany and the Western Balkans reached a all-time high in 2013, at 18 billion.
