3 PERTH ROYAL DOG SHOW PERFORMANCE DOGS It has been compared to show jumping, but for dogs. The Perth Royal Dog Show - Performance Dogs tests the agility, speed and precision of dogs working in partnership with their handlers. An exciting sport to watch, this competition is a major drawcard at the IGA Perth Royal Show. MISSION STATEMENT To promote the public awareness of recognised dog breeds and their importance as pets and companions by providing an international showcase and working competition. 8 DOGS - PERFORMANCE GENERAL SHOW REGULATIONS The Society s General Show Regulations and Section Conditions regulate the conduct of the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show. Upon acceptance of an entry the Exhibitor is irrevocably contracted to be bound by those General Show Regulations and Section Conditions. A copy of the Society s General Show Regulations may be obtained on application or from the website The following Section Conditions are applicable to all Exhibitors entering exhibits in the Perth Royal Dog Show Section. An Exhibitor who breaches any General Show Regulation or Section Condition may be disqualified, or suspended for any period, fined or otherwise penalised. The Society may publish to: a) All Royal Show Societies in Australia; b) The relevant Breed Society; and c) The body with which the Exhibit is registered, or is eligible for registration, the result of any proceedings before the Disciplinary Committee in which a Person has been found to have breached any General Show Regulation or Section Condition. The Society may recognise and act upon any penalty imposed by any other similar society, organisation or body in Australia on any person or exhibit. It is in the Exhibitors best interests to carefully read all conditions. INSURANCE: The Owner/Exhibitor is responsible for the insurance of his or her exhibit whilst the exhibit is on the Society s Showground. PRIZE MONEY: RASWA has a policy whereby all prize money is paid by EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer). Your banking details will be kept secure and can only be used by RASWA to credit your bank account. Please complete your account details on the entry form even if you have provided them previously. In accordance with the rules of the competition, failure to provide your bank details will mean that any prize money you earn will be forfeited and retained by RASWA. Prize money as stated in the schedule does not include GST. The prize money which the Society pays to successful Exhibitors ("you") depends on the information that you provide to the Society. If you confirm that you are GST registered and provide your Australian Business Number (ABN) the Society will pay the appropriate prize money plus 10% GST. The Society will provide to you a Recipient Created Tax Invoice (RCTI) 6 within 28 days of the day you were successful at your event, detailing the GST which you will need to submit to the Australian Tax Office (ATO). If any adjustments need to be made, the Society will issue an adjustment note to you within 28 days of the adjustment. Upon entry into the competition and completion and signing of the application form, this form will become a RCTI agreement as required under (Goods and Services Tax) Act Furthermore, you acknowledge your agreement to the following: The Society will issue you a tax invoice in respect of the successful exhibit; You are requested not to issue a tax invoice to the Society in respect to prize money received; It will be necessary for you to notify the Society if you cease to be registered for GST; and The Society will notify you if it ceases to satisfy any of the requirements of the determinations. If you provide your ABN but are not registered for GST, the Society will pay the prize money as detailed in the prize schedule. If you are a business Exhibitor and do not provide your ABN to the Society, you will have 46.5% tax deducted from our prize money under the ATO PAYG provisions. If you confirm that you are entering as part of a private recreational pursuit or hobby, the Society will pay the prize money as detailed in the prize schedule. LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY: The Society shall not be liable for any damages, costs, claims, expenses or liabilities arising from the withdrawal of an exhibit. Refer also to the Society s General Show Regulation 17 Liability and Indemnity. PROMOTION: No advertising or promotion on behalf of commercial business will be permitted on the Showground without the prior written consent of the Society s Chief Executive Officer. PRIVACY ACT STATEMENT: The information provided by the Exhibitor in the application for entry is collected and used by the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) to organise and conduct Competitions at the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show. We may publish details such as your Name, Address and Exhibit details in any RASWA publication or communication. Such information may also be made available to, and published by, the media. We will not disclose your information without your consent for any other purpose unless required or authorised by law. You may request access to your personal information and, if necessary, request that our records of that information be corrected by writing to the Chief Executive Officer at the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia, PO Box 135, Claremont WA 6910.

9 SECTION CONDITIONS 1. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: 1.1 Entries must be lodged on the official RASWA application form. Forms are available to download from Entries will be accepted on ANKC/Dogs West application forms provided declaration pages 1 and 2 of the RASWA application for entry forms are completed, signed and attached. Exhibits entered in the wrong class will be transferred to the lowest age class for which they are eligible. 1.2 The Society reserves the right to refuse entries from any person who is to any extent in debt to the Society or under any ban by Dogs West. 1.3 The Society may, at its sole discretion, withdraw, reject or disqualify an exhibit. Refer to the Society s General Show Regulation The decision of the Council on all points involving the RASWA General Show Regulations and Section Conditions shall be final, without recourse. 2. CLASSES: 2.1 Obedience: Utility Dog Excellent (UDX), Utility (UD), Novice (CD), Open (CDX), Community Companion (CCD). NOTE: Should numbers warrant the sudden death rule will apply and competitors will be excused from the ring if an exercise is failed. 2.2 Agility and Jumping: Masters, Excellent, Novice, Open. 2.3 Team Competition (Teams of 4) Two Rounds: Names of dogs and handlers are required. One reserve dog may be nominated, and will only run to take the place of a dog unable to compete in the team for which they are nominated as reserve. Scores of all dogs in each team will count. A modified excellent course to be used. 2.4 Heelwork to music: Starter, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced. 2.5 Canine Freestyle: Starter, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced. 2.6 Rally O : Novice, Advanced A/B and Excellent A/B and Masters. EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE: All ages are calculated as at the first day of the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show. Wherever the word "months" appears throughout this section it means calendar months. Sex of dog to be entered and Jump Class height of dog must be entered. Registration number must be entered. "Pending" registrations will not be processed. Not for Competition Classes will not be available for any discipline. ANKC Member Body Membership Number must be entered. Registered Owner must be entered. Exhibitor is to sign the entry form and make sure all contact details have been included. 3. CATALOGUES: 3.1 $4.00 each. Please order and pay for the catalogue with entry fees. Entrants with exhibits in both competitions, who have paid for a Conformation Catalogue will be given a Performance Catalogue at no extra charge. You will be able to pick up each catalogue at the respective offices on production of your receipt. 4. REFUND OF ENTRY FEES: 4.1 No refunds will be given for livestock exhibits except where the Society has excess entries in a section or class and is unable to accommodate them. 4.2 If an exhibit is withdrawn, rejected or disqualified by the Society for any reason, other than the Society s General Show Regulation 3.18, the entry fee will NOT be refundable. 4.3 Any Exhibitor giving an incorrect description of his or her exhibit with the intention of deceiving or defrauding the Society shall be disqualified from exhibiting at any future Perth Royal Shows. 4.4 The Society may, at its sole discretion, require an Exhibitor to make a Statutory Declaration regarding his or her own exhibits. 5. TICKETS: 5.1 Exhibitors will be issued with a single entry ticket into the Showground for the day on which judging takes place. 1-3 Exhibits: 2 single entry tickets 4-6 Exhibits: 3 single entry tickets 7 Exhibits: 4 single entry tickets Every 2 dogs entered after 7 will receive an extra single entry ticket. 2.7 Strategic Pairs, Snooker and Gamblers: Novice, Excellent and Masters. 7

10 6. DELIVERY OF DOGS: 6.1 Exhibitors will be allowed to drop off their dogs via Gate 1. Gate opens from 6.00am each morning. 7. VEHICLE PARKING: Parking of Exhibitors vehicles will not be permitted in the Showground. 8. CONTROL OF EXHIBITS: 8.1 No animal, other than the Exhibit, shall be allowed within the precincts of the Dog Section during the continuance of the Show. 8.2 The Owner or Exhibitor of an exhibit disapproved of as an exhibit by the Council, must upon notice to that effect, immediately remove such exhibit from the Showground. AWARDS FROM PREVIOUS SHOWS AND TRIALS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BE DISPLAYED. 8.3 All dogs must be suitably secured, and have an attendant at all times. Owners are advised that dogs are NOT permitted beyond the immediate precincts of the judging area. Dogs are NOT permitted to be led around the Showground. Bitches in season will not be permitted to compete or remain in the vicinity of the trial. Competitors only will be permitted in the marquee area. No tents or portable shade shelters will be permitted. 9. JUDGING: 9.1 Judging times: Agility and Jumping Teams and Agility Trial: Saturday 23 September 2017 from 9.00am. Obedience: Sunday 24 September 2017 from 8.00am. Rally O : Sunday 24 September 2017 to follow Obedience. Jumping Trials: Monday 25 September 2017 from 9.00am. Games: Friday 29 September 2017 from 9.00am. Dances With Dogs: Saturday 30 September 2017 from 9.30am. The Society reserves the right to re-allocate classes between Judges should it be deemed necessary. 9.2 Any person causing annoyance by loud comments on the decision of the Judges, or other unseemly or insulting behavior, after having been cautioned by the Councillor in Charge or Chief Steward, will be expelled from the Showground. 10. PROTESTS: 10.1 Protests against breaches of the Dogs West Regulations will be dealt with under Dogs West Regulation B28. If the decision of the RASWA Show Committee on any matter not specifically dealt with under Dogs West Regulations governing Shows, be regarded by the person lodging the protest as unsatisfactory, he or she shall have the right to appeal to RASWA in accordance with the Society s General Show Regulation REMOVAL OF EXHIBITS: 11.1 Exhibitors and their dogs will exit the Showground through the John O Meehan Pavilion Dogs or equipment cannot be removed or packed up from the marquee before 5.00pm on the day they are exhibited Permission will not be granted for removal of exhibits before the closing time stated in this Schedule RASWA equipment trolleys must only be loaded for departure as they are about to be used NO Exhibit is to be removed from the Pavilion/Showground without a Livestock Release Pass which will be issued by the Chief Steward, along with vetting slip prior to the commencement of judging. Exhibitors are requested to clean up their area ready for disinfecting before leaving. 12. DAMAGES: 12.1 The Owner/Exhibitor shall be liable to reimburse the Society for any damages, costs, claims, expenses or liabilities incurred, or likely to be incurred, by the Society arising from the withdrawal of an exhibit. 13. AWARDS: 13.1 PRIZES: OBEDIENCE Overall winners with a qualifying score in Community Companion, Novice, Open, Utility and Utility Excellent: $20.00 each and Medallion. 2nd and 3rd placegetters in the Obedience classes: Rosette PRIZES: AGILITY AND JUMPING Excluding Open, classes to be judged in separate heights (Open will be overall). 1st place: $15.00, Medallion and Rosette. Open only: 1st place: $15.00, Medallion and Rosette. 2nd and 3rd place: Rosette. 8

11 13.3 PRIZES: AGILITY AND JUMPING TEAMS Team Winners: $60.00 per team and Rosette. 2nd and 3rd placegetters in the Agility and Jumping Teams: Rosette PRIZES: DANCES WITH DOGS Winners in Dances With Dogs classes will receive Medallions. 2nd and 3rd placegetters in the Dances With Dogs classes: Rosette PRIZES: RALLY O Overall winners with a qualifying score in Rally O will receive $10.00 and Medallions. 2nd and 3rd placegetters in the Rally O classes: Rosette PRIZES: GAMES Strategic Pairs. Overall winning pair will receive $20.00 and a Rosette. 2nd and 3rd placegetters: Rosette. Snooker and Gambler Overall 1st place: $10.00 and Rosette. 2nd and 3rd placegetters: Rosette. 14. TROPHIES: 14.1 Must be delivered to the RASWA office with the award clearly marked. All Trophies and sashes must be received at RASWA no later than 4 August SPONSORED CASH PRIZES, TROPHIES, SASHES AND ROSETTES: A number of individuals, Dog Clubs and Firms have made available prizes, trophies, sashes and rosettes. A complete list will be published in the Perth Royal Dog Show Catalogue. Notwithstanding this NO awards will be presented in the ring unless prior approval has been granted by RASWA. Approval must be sought in writing by the 1 September All Trophies must be branded 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show. Trophies will only be awarded at the discretion of the Judge. Note: Perpetual Trophies are not acceptable to RASWA and will not be awarded. The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia reserves the right to re-allocate classes if entries warrant it among named Judges. 9

12 GENERAL SHOW REGULATION 17. LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY (Extract from the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia General Show Regulations - Revised 22 August 2007) Exhibitor Accepts The lodgement of an Application of Entry form shall be deemed to be acknowledgment by the Exhibitor of his or her agreement that the Society shall be under no liability for: No Liability for animals or birds Exhibited The loss, injury or death of any animal, (including birds) Exhibited, whether caused by, or attributable to, the negligence of the Society, or of its servants or Agent, or otherwise howsoever No Liability for property Exhibited Any loss or damage occasioned to or by any property Exhibited, whether caused by, or attributable to, the negligence of the Society, or of its servants or Agent, or otherwise howsoever No Liability for other animals, property, Exhibitor or general public Any injury or damage occasioned to any other animal or property Exhibited, or to any other Exhibitor, or to the general public, whether caused by, or attributable to, the negligence of the Society, or of its servants or Agent, or otherwise howsoever No Liability for contracting any disease or suffering animals or birds Any loss or damage suffered by any Exhibitor as a result of any disease contracted or suffered by any animals (including birds) after, or as a consequence of any animal Exhibits, or their progeny, being brought onto the Showground No Liability for livestock sales The Society and the Auctioneers of Royal Show Livestock Sales shall be under no liability to any Owner or purchaser of livestock (whether exhibited or otherwise) entered for sale or sold at any Royal Show Livestock Sale No Liability for livestock auctioned In respect of any loss or injury to such livestock; whether such loss or injury be caused by or be attributable to, the negligence of the Auctioneers speci ed in the Regulations relating to the Royal Show Livestock Sales or to the Society or any of its servants or Agents No Liability for other livestock, property, Exhibitor or general public For any injury or damage occasioned to any other livestock or property, or to any other Exhibitor, or to the general public, whether caused by, or attributable to, the negligence of the Auctioneers speci ed in the Regulations relating to the Royal Show Livestock Sales or to the Society or any of its servants or Agents No Liability for conse uential loss and loss of pro ts For any loss or damage (including without limitation consequential loss and loss of pro ts) suffered by any Owner or purchaser of livestock as a result of any disease contracted or suffered by any livestock after, or as a consequence of any livestock being entered for sale, at any Royal Show Livestock Sale Exhibits sold privately Where any animal Exhibited, or any other Exhibit, is sold privately during the time of the Royal Show the vendor thereof shall indemnify the Society against all liability to the purchaser in respect of any loss, injury, disease or damage to such animal or other Exhibit, whether such loss, injury, disease or damage be caused by or attributable to the negligence of the Society or any of its servants or Agents Accidents and Incidents Competitors, Exhibitors and Attendants must report promptly to the Society all accidents and incidents causing or likely to cause injury to persons or damage to property Trade Practices Act To the extent that any matter relating to entry or remaining upon the Showground relates to the supply of goods or services by the Society within the meaning of s. 68A of the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cwlth), the Society s liability is limited as follows: (a) (b) in case of goods, the replacement, repair or payment for the replacement or repair of the goods. in the case of services, the re-supply of the services or the cost of the re-supply of the services. It shall be in the Society s absolute discretion as to whether it replaces, repairs or pays for replacement or repair of goods. It shall be further in the Society s discretion as to whether it re-supplies or pays the cost of re-supply or services Indemnity To the maximum extent permitted by law, each Competitor and Exhibitor must indemnify and keep indemni ed the Society and its of cers, employees, members and Agents from and, against all actions, claims, demands, losses, damages, costs, expenses and liabilities including without limitation, consequential loss and loss of pro ts for which the Society is or may be become liable in respect of or arising from: (a) (b) (c) loss, damage or injury to any person in connection with the Exhibit or the relevant Event; without limiting sub-regulation (a) loss, damage or injury to any other Exhibit or Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees, Agents, or to the property of the Society, or its members, or to the general public, caused or contributed to or by any act or omission of an Exhibit of the Exhibitor or by the Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees or Agents; and without limiting sub-regulation (a) loss, damage or injury to the Exhibit, or the Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees, or Agents caused or contributed by an act or omission of an Exhibit of the Exhibitor or by the transportation, feeding or housing of an Exhibit of the Exhibitor Removal of Exhibit Without prejudice to any other provision of these Regulations, where the Society, its of cers, employees, members or Agents remove an Exhibit, or causes an Exhibit to be removed from the Showground, the Exhibit is removed or caused to be removed entirely at the risk of the Exhibitor. The person or persons removing the Exhibit will be deemed to be the Agent of the Exhibitor, and his or her acts and omissions will be deemed to be the acts and omissions of the Exhibitor.

13 ANIMAL / LIVESTOCK OWNERS / EXHIBITORS PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia ( Society ) has a Public Liability insurance policy in the interests of Owners / Exhibitors of Animals / Livestock entering competitions in accordance with the Society s General Show Regulations and Section Conditions. INSURED PARTIES: Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s) of Animal / Livestock Exhibits upon payment of Entry fees and provided such Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s) comply with all requirements herein together with the Society s General Show Regulations and Section Conditions and any other terms and conditions the Royal Agricultural Society of WA may, at its sole discretion, require an Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s) to comply with. Failure to comply may render the Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s) personally liable for any claims that may arise as a result of any incident to which they may have, by omission or commission, contributed. PERIOD OF INSURANCE: For the period the Animals / Livestock are on the Society s Royal Showground, Claremont, Western Australia for the purposes of the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show. INSURED ACTIVITIES: All activities undertaken whilst within the con nes of the Society s Royal Showground, Claremont, Western Australia consistent with the (Business) Insured Parties Animal / Livestock Exhibit activity. DESCRIPTION OF COVER: Insurance in respect of the Insured Parties liability to pay costs and compensation in respect of loss of, or damage to, third party property and death of, or injury to, third party persons caused by, and arising out of, the Insured Parties activities, all subject to the Society s policy terms, conditions, exclusions and warranties etc. AMOUNT OF COVER: $150,000,000 any one occurrence. Excess: $10,000 each and every claim. It should be noted that the payment of the excess in the event of a claim is the responsibility of the Owner/s /Exhibitor/s. IMPORTANT CONDITIONS: The Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s) must: 1. exercise reasonable care to maintain all premises, ttings and plant in sound condition; 2. take all reasonable precautions to prevent injury and damage to persons and property; 3. promptly comply with any request made by the Royal Agricultural Society of WA which it may, at its sole discretion, require of an Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s); 4. give immediate notice: a) of an incident that may give rise to a claim; or b) if in receipt of advice of a claim; 5. not make any admission, offer or promise in connection with any claim and must not at any time admit liability; 6. make themselves aware of, and comply with, the policy conditions including duty of disclosure.
