1 The benefits listed below apply to employees of all SVB Financial Group (hereafter referred to as SVB) entities located in Beijing, China. Since this document is a summary of the benefits available, there may be additional terms, conditions and limitations that apply (such as medical underwriting approval). Please refer to the actual policy for additional information. SVB makes all statutory benefit contributions, such as pension, housing fund, and unemployment, medical, work injury and maternity insurances. SVB Holidays 2018 New Year s Holiday 1 January Chinese Spring Festival February Tomb Sweeping Day 5-7 April Labor Day 29 April 1 May Dragon Boat Festival June Mid-Autumn Festival September National Day 1 7 October Private Medical and Dental Insurance You and your declared dependents (spouse and children) are 100 percent covered for outpatient services up to RMB 50,000 per insured per year and 100 percent coverage for hospitalization. You and your dependents will also receive a wellness benefit of up to RMB 2,000 per year, which can be used for health checkups and screenings at any time during the year. You and your spouse are eligible for maternity expenses (maternity expenses being capped at RMB 30,000 per year). The total medical policy limit is RMB 1,000,000 per insured per year. You and your declared dependents (spouse and children) are covered for dental services up to a maximum of RMB 2,000 per insured per year. Preventive dental services are covered at 80 percent and basic and major restorative services are covered at 50 percent. These benefits are insured through CIGNA & CMB and the insurance premiums paid by SVB are subject to local tax laws. Life and Personal Accident Insurance As an SVB employee, you are covered by a life and personal accident injury insurance policy (insured by Taiping) in the amount of 36 times your base monthly salary. The coverage includes death by disease and accidental death. Payroll Schedule Payday is the last working day of each month. Supplemental Sick Leave SVB provides you paid sick leave of up to 10 days per year; with up to 100 percent of base salary combined with the statutory benefit. 1

2 Serious Illness Insurance After 30 days of employment, in the case of any serious disease (the 35 kinds of illness as defined in the policy), you will be entitled to a lump sum benefit of RMB 150,000. SVB China Employee Supplemental Pension Plan The supplemental pension plan automatically provides a fixed contribution of 3% of base salary to eligible employees. Additionally, you may make voluntary contributions from your post-tax salary and receive a 100% employer match contribution on the first 5% of your voluntary contributions. The total employer contribution opportunity is 8% and is subject to a vesting schedule. You are eligible after completion of your probation period. If you do not make voluntary payroll contributions, you will still be eligible for the 3% fixed employer contribution. Employee Assistance Program SVB provides an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at no cost to you to support your success at home and at work. Chestnut Global Partners is the provider. You may contact them by telephone or have up to five face-to-face meetings. The website ( offers many resources for work/life support, and assistance with personal, family or work issues. Holiday and Vacation Leave To provide you with paid time off for relaxation or personal time away from the office, full-time employees are eligible to earn vacation leave in addition to the statutory holidays. Employees begin accruing on their date of hire at a rate of 20 days per year (inclusive of statutory annual leaves) up to a maximum of 1.5 times the annual allotment. Transportation Allowance SVB provides a monthly transportation allowance of RMB 400 for all employees upon presentation of the relevant receipts. Education Assistance You may be eligible for education assistance and receive reimbursement of up to RMB 15,000 per calendar year based on the approved program of study. You must be with SVB for at least six months, and must be meeting all performance expectations. Employees on a performance improvement plan are not eligible to participate in this program. The policy reimburses employees for tuition and book expenses associated with pursuit of a university degree that is relevant to their current or future work at SVB. Nonrelated and preparatory coursework is not eligible for reimbursement. Your manager and group manager must approve your request to use this benefit prior to enrolling in any coursework. Participating employees must pass the course to be reimbursed. 2

3 Talent Development SVB-sponsored programs are paid in full and applicable travel expenses are reimbursed under the standard Company policy. SVB sponsors a number of programs internally and/or partners with external affiliates through the HR Talent Development team to provide programs specifically identified for their applicability to our workplace. Refer to the Talent Development page on The Source for details. Employee Recognition SVB has a strong commitment to recognition and the role recognition plays in ensuring a strong culture at SVB. Awards are given out quarterly and annually recognizing performance, client care, operational excellence and community service. Business Travel Accident Insurance The policy from the Chubb Group includes benefits for lost or damaged checked baggage, emergency evacuation, medical and travel assistance. The amount of this benefit varies based on the loss. In the event of an employee s accidental death while travelling on SVB business, an additional lump sum death benefit of 10 times basic salary up to US$750,000 is provided. Additional information is available on The Source. This benefit is fully paid for by SVB and covers all employees and their dependent family members when traveling on SVB business. Employee Referral Program To encourage great employee referrals for top talent you may be eligible to earn up to RMB 16,500 for top talent when you successfully recommend candidates for SVB s Employee Referral Program. Referring great candidates to SVB is simple. 1. View a list of the current job postings on 2. Identify candidates that would be great for the position and the SVB culture. Make sure your candidate has directly applicable experience for the position. 3. Send an to the Employee Referral Team to inform them of the candidate you are referring. Include a resume, the job number and/or title for the job posting. 4. Make sure your candidate indicates your name as the source of referral on the application. 5. A staffing specialist will review the resume to determine if it meets the minimum qualifications of the position applied for (if specific) or other current or potential future positions at SVB. If the candidate you referred is hired, they must successfully complete the requisite period of employment (90 days) with SVB before Staffing can authorize payment.
