3 MEETING OBJECTIVES: Update projects status Learn about EUI planning process Preview stakeholder meeting 2 Provide feedback on two key areas: Potential Study data Potential solutions to EUI barriers 3
4 REVIEW - ADVISORY COMMITTEE Provide input on key potential study parameters and policy recommendations Act as liaison for their organizations; consult with other internal stakeholders and subjectmatter experts within their organizations, and keep them informed as needed 4
5 REVIEW - OVERVIEW OF PROJECTS Two EUI projects are underway EUI statewide technical potential study DOE-funded study to look at EUI policy issues and ways to drive implementation 5
6 An estimated 12-15% of the nation s electricity production is consumed by generation auxiliary loads, transmission and distribution losses, and substation consumption 6
7 REVIEW - EUI POTENTIAL STUDY GOALS Estimate the potential for improving efficiency and reducing carbon emissions related to Electric Utility Infrastructure in Minnesota 7
