2 Objective of this Study Hall Campus Partners designed this Study Hall webinar to help you understand the various reports we provide and how to find additional information in System III. After this session you will have a better understanding of the what, where, when and why of the Campus Partners reports and system as it applies to collections. 3 expressreports expressreports provides Internet access to your reports. Reports are available for you to view and print on the first business day following the cutoff date. There are several benefits to accessing expressreports on-line via the Internet. Some of the features include: Instant Access Ability to search by report name, Ease of downloading and importing data. After this session, you should expect to learn the following: How to Locate the report Features of the expressreports How to print your reports How to download your reports To use expressreports, all you need for your desktop computer is access to the Internet and the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader version. 4 ACCESSING YOUR REPORTS To access the expressreports website, click on the expressreports link at the bottom of the screen. After connecting to our expressreports Web site, enter your System III logon id and password. Collection Agency Study Hall - Page 4
5 Click on the link Collection Agency Reports. You will now see the following screen: Collection Agency Study Hall - Page 5
6 LOCATING YOUR REPORTS On the Select Report Screen, reports can be selected from two different categories. After making your selection click on Report to retrieve the report you selected. Section I of the Agency Number and Report Description and the reports under that number. Report Description The Date section indicates the load date of the reports for each reporting frequency. Section II of the Report Description and Agency Number will list all agencies under that particular report description. Collection Agency Study Hall - Page 6
7 SELECT REPORT SCREEN On the Select Report Screen, reports can be selected by listing all of the reports available by date under a particular agency number or by listing all of the available reports by date under a report description. After making your selections, click on Report to display the first page of the report that you selected. The first page of the report that you selected is displayed. This is your preface page, which separates each of your reports.
8 FEATURES OF expressreports Toolbar This section describes the features available once you have located your report. These options are located on your Document Panel Toolbar. A. First Page B. 9 PRINTING YOUR REPORTS The Print button is used to print page(s) of the report. Click on the Print button located on the Toolbar. After selecting the Print button, a menu will pop up, allowing you to select various print options: Current Page Entire Report Range-To Once you have completed your print selection, click Print. 10 DOWNLOAD Download into a Zip File The Download function is used to save a report to your hard drive or network. Once you have located the report or the page you would like to download, click on the Download button located on the Toolbar. The file will be compressed into Zip archive format. Using Internet Explorer Your browser will prompt you to respond to this question, Would you like to open the file or save it to your computer? If you select Open the file, the file will not be saved to your C drive. If you select, Save this file to disk, it will be saved to your Desktop. Once your file has been successfully downloaded you will get a Download Complete message. Select Close. Another window will appear, select Close this window when download finished to close this window. Collection Agency Study Hall - Page 10
11 Once you have located the file on your disk drive, double click the file to open your Zip program. Double click the file in your Zip program, and it will open in Notepad. To save the file, click on Save as located under the File menu. Using Netscape Navigator Your browser will prompt you to respond to this question, Would should Netscape do with this file? If you select Open it with the default application, the file will not be saved to your C drive. If you select, Save it to disk, it will be saved to your Desktop. Download Screen Once you have located the file on your disk drive, double click the file to open your Zip program. Double click the file in your Zip program, and it will open in Notepad. 12 Collection Agency Study Hall - Page 12 COLLECTION AGENCY REPORTS Report Name Purpose Intended Use New Placements Report Transactions Against Loans in Collection Collection Agency Inventory This report provides the collection agency with a listing of loans placed during the reporting period. The loans shown on the report either have been coded automatically or manually for collection at the request of the lending institution. This report provides the collection agency with a listing of selected transactions that posted against loans in collection during the reporting period. Transactions selected are those that might be important to the collection process and those that are the results of that process. This report provides the collection agency with an inventory of loans placed in collection for a particular institution. This report will reflect updated loan information to include all monetary changes and most non-monetary changes. Upon receiving this report, the collection agency should create a record or file for each loan listed. The agency should then begin collection procedures in accordance with its contractual agreement with the lender. The report provides the collector with demographic, monetary and historical data. The collection agency should use this report to update its records with payments and other monetary activity that occurred on the loans being collected and loans with changes of name or address. This report provides the agency with a means of verifying that its records are complete. In addition, the agency should use this report to update its records with additional amounts that became due since the last report (provided that it is authorized to do so by the lending institution). If the words NEW PLACEMENT are printed to the right column of this report, the agency should create a record or file for the borrower and begin collection procedures in accordance with its contractual agreement with the lender. 13 New Placements Report - Agency Version (Standard Report with Collection Agency Interface) PURPOSE INTENDED USE REPORT FREQUENCY The agency version of the New Placements Report provides the collection agency or school collector with a listing of loans placed during the reporting period. The loans shown on the report either have been code automatically or manually for collection at the request of the lending institution. Upon receiving this report, the collection agency should create a record or file for each loan listed. The agency should then begin collection procedures in accordance with its contractual agreement with the lender. The report provides the collector with demographic, monetary and historical data. Standard: Weekly Options: None SUGGESTED RETENTION CONSOLIDATION LEVELS SELECTION CRITERIA SORT SEQUENCE Until the agency has established its files. Program, Sublender, Lender or System (as specified by lender) This report will be produced for each collection agency. All loans placed (manually or automatically) with the agency during the reporting period will be printed. Standard: Borrower Name/Borrower Number/Program Number/Loan Number/Sequence Number Options: None TOTALS See sample report. MISCELLANEOUS The Interim Interest fields on the right side of the report will be displayed NOTES only for loans on which interest is accrued and billed during a nonrepayment status. If a loan program or report consolidation does not have any loans with interest accrual and billing during non-repayment statuses, the field headings for Interim Interest will not be displayed. If a borrower's loans fall sequentially, the Borrower Name, Address, Primary Telephone Number, Secondary Telephone Number, Address Type, Address Status and Social Security Number will be printed once. The Loan Amount includes the Capitalized Amount. The Total Balance equals the Principal Balance plus the Capitalized Balance. Does not generate at month end. 15 Transactions Against Loans in Collection Report (Standard Report with Collection Agency Interface) PURPOSE INTENDED USE The Transactions Against Loans in Collection Report provides you and collection agencies with a listing of selected transactions that posted against loans in collection during the reporting period. Transactions selected are those that might be important to the collection process and those that are the results of that process. The collection agency should use this report to update its records with payments and other monetary activity that occurred on the loans being collected and loans with changes of name or address. The lender can use this report to check the activity processed by Campus Partners on loans in collection. More importantly, the student loan manager can use this report to verify collection fees billed by the collection agency for payments made directly to the creditor. REPORT FREQUENCY Standard: Weekly Options: Monthly SUGGESTED RETENTION CONSOLIDATION LEVELS SELECTION CRITERIA Until payments have been reconciled with the agency invoice. Program, Lender, Sublender or System All of the following transactions on loans placed with the collection agency. Also other transactions that affect fields on the Collection Agency Inventory and Transactions that affect Total Due. 1. Payments except those with a Source Code of C (payments received from agencies are not printed on this report). 2. Payment Reversals except those with a Source Code of C. 3. Cancellations 4. Cancellations Reversals 5. Postponements 6. Postponement Reversals 7. Deferments 8. Deferment Reversals 9. Changed Name 10. Changed Address 11. Changed Telephone Number 12. Acceleration 13. Deceleration 14. Separation Date Change 15. Loan Recalled from Collection Agency 16. Reprocessing - if it results in a change to Total Due. 17. Capitalization of Interest 18. 16 SORT SEQUENCES Standard: Borrower Name/Borrower Number/Program Number/Loan Number/Sequence Number/Post Date/Post Time Options: 1. Loan Number/Sequence Number/Program Number/Post Date/Post Time 2. Division of Labor (alpha on borrower name)/borrower Name/Borrower Number 3. Program Number/Loan Number/Sequence Number/Post Date/Post Time 4. Division of Labor (numeric on loan number)/loan Number/Sequence Number/Program Number/Post Date/Post Time MISCELLANEOUS If a transaction brings a loan current (i.e., Notification Days Past Due is NOTES equal to zero after the transaction is applied), the words LOAN BROUGHT CURRENT will be printed in the Comments column. If the loan was coded as having records withheld, RW will be printed next to this message. If more than one transaction posted against the loan, the borrower name, program number, loan number and sequence number will be printed once. The lender can request a Division of Labor sort for its internal needs. However, the standard sort or optional sort 1 should be used for the agencies. If the effective date of the transaction is prior to the bill generation date (for example, backdated payments), no amount will show as Change to Amounts Due. If the report is sorted alphabetically (standard sort or optional sort 2), the borrower name will be in the first column. If the report is sorted numerically (optional sorts 1 and 3), the program number and loan number will be printed in the first column. Collection Agency Study Hall - Page 16

18 Collection Agency Inventory - Agency Version (Standard Report with Collection Agency Interface) PURPOSE INTENDED USE The agency version of the Collection Agency Inventory provides the collection agency with an inventory of loans placed in collection for a particular institution. This report will reflect updated loan information to include all monetary changes and most nonmonetary changes. This report provides the agency with a means of verifying that its records are complete. Standard: Borrower Name/Borrower Number/Program Number/Loan Number/Sequence Number Options: None TOTALS Two lines of totals are provided, one for new placements and one for the total loans listed on the report. MISCELLANEOUS The Interim Interest line on the report will be displayed only for loans NOTES on which interest is accrued and billed during nonrepayment statuses. If a loan program or report consolidation does not have any loans with interest accrual and billing during nonrepayment statuses, the field headings for the fifth line will not be displayed. If a borrower's loans fall sequentially, the Borrower Name, Address, Primary Telephone Number, Address Status and Social Security Number will be printed once. 21 File Transfer of Data to Collection Agency Campus Partners uses SFTP for all data transfers and coordinates with the Collection Agency to set up the process. Outgoing Data Campus Partners can supply the Collection Agency with two file options for receiving data electronically to update system records quickly and accurately. These include: Collection Agency Inventory File This file contains data the Collection Agency can transfer to internal databases in order to update borrower information. New Placements File This file contains even more data the Collection Agency can transfer to internal databases in order to update borrower information. The record layout for both of these files can be sent to the Collection Agency electronically by April O Mara at Campus Partners. 23 Connecting to System III Through the Internet ACCESSING DataLink WebConnect is the method to access DataLink using your default Internet browser. Once you have registered for WebConnect (Contact April O Mara), you will need to follow these instructions to access your accounts. Enter datalink.campuspartners.net into your Internet browser. You will now see the following screen. Click on the "Click here to start a session" link. Collection Agency Study Hall - Page 23
24 You may or may not encounter the following screen. This Security Warning or Alert screen certifies that your information will be secured (protected) and will establish an encrypted path between your computer and the server. Select the OK or Yes button to continue. Select the Yes Collection Agency Study Hall - Page 24
25 VERY IMPORTANT: The following screen will appear in the lower right hand corner of your screen. DO NOT close this window, simply minimize it. The following screen appears while you are being connected to WebConnect and prior to starting your session. Collection Agency Study Hall - Page 25
26 After you have successfully connected to WebConnect, the following TPX screen appears. Key your DataLink login ID after the Userid prompt. Your DataLink login ID will appear. Press the Enter or Tab button. Key your DataLink password after the Password prompt and press Enter. Your password will not appear. Your password must be at least six characters and a maximum of eight characters. Collection Agency Study Hall - Page 26
27 Once you have successfully logged on to DataLink, the following screen appears. Notice your cursor is located on the Command line. To move your cursor next to the CICSAE menu option, press Tab, the Home button on your keyboard or the Home button on your PF Keypad. 29 The following screen appears. Type in WB01 (Letters W and B and Numbers 0 and 1). Then press Enter. Collection Agency Study Hall - Page 29
30 The System Selection Menu appears. You may want to use your mouse to position the cursor. To activate your mouse, select the Setting menu option. Check the Cursor to Mouse option. You may enter the borrower's account number, social security number, Program/Loan number, student ID, or name.
