3 WA Healthplanfinder Grace Periods Individuals are given a grace period. If they are eligible for non-subsidized QHP, their grace period is 1 month and then if they do not pay, they will be disenrolled the last day of the month they paid for coverage. Subsidized individuals have a 3 month grace period. Healthplanfinder will continue billing each month and carry over the amount past due, and if not paid by the end of the 3 month grace period, then they will be disenrolled the last day of the 1st grace month. Individuals must pay past premiums up to current to release the grace period. 3
4 WA Healthplanfinder Grace Periods Cont. Individuals must pay past premiums up to current payment to release the grace period Terminations will process the first of the month following their last grace period month to ensure all payments have processed If an individual doesn t pay, Healthplanfinder sends a delinquency notice with the next month s invoice, including the delinquent amount. 4
5 Paper Application Processing Paper applications are processed at the Call Center Paper applications are processed according to the date received Currently the call center is current on processing paper applications received within the last 24/48 hours ( ) Paper applications should be mailed to: Washington Healthplanfinder PO Box 946 Olympia, WA Please do not submit a paper application if you have already started a online application 5
6 12/23 Contingency Plan The Exchange will systematically modify the eligibility and enrollment date of applications affected by errors to support coverage effective Jan. 1 for applications received on Monday, Dec. 23 will have their insurance benefits retroactively configured to the start of the year. The solution will be for those individuals who started an application in the system prior to the Dec. 23 deadline and are subsequently determined eligible for coverage by Jan. 15. The Exchange will follow up with a correspondence to these individuals with guidance in order for them to secure coverage effective Jan. 1. FAQ and talking points are being developed and will be shared as soon as they are developed 6
7 Small Business Tax Credit Small business tax credit IS available to eligible businesses outside of Clark & Cowlitz counties in 2014 Worth 50% of employer-paid premium costs (35% for tax-exempt employers) 2 consecutive years Small businesses in Clark & Cowlitz must purchase through Healthplanfinder, Business (SHOP) to be eligible for tax credits Eligibility: Businesses with fewer than 25 full-time equivalent (FTEs) with average annual wages of less than $50,000 and the employer must cover at least 50% of the cost of single health care coverage 7
