1 CONTENTS PAGE Fair Work Commission (FWC) Annual Wage Review Equal Remuneration Order 1 Method for Calculating the Equal Remuneration Payment 2 Table 1 SCHCADS Award 3 Allowances 7 SCHCADS Pay Rate Worksheet with example calculations 8 Fair Work Commission (FWC) Annual Wage Review These pay rates have been prepared following the Fair Work Commission annual wage review for which resulted in a 3.3% pay increase to the minimum weekly wage and award pay rates. The following pay rates are effective from the first full pay period commencing on or after 1 July Equal Remuneration Order On 22 June 2012, Fair Work Australia issued an Order giving effect to its decision on the Equal Remuneration Case. As a result of that Order, pay rates for employees classified in the Social and Community Services stream will be progressively increased over an eight year period from the first full pay period commencing on or after 1 December A worksheet to assist in calculating the value of the Equal Remuneration Payment is included with this document. The CCSA Management Infoline ( or ) is available to assist members with these calculations. DISCLAIMER These pay rates have been prepared by CCSA for use by members only. The rates have been calculated based on CCSA s interpretation of award and pay rate information, and recent decisions made by the Fair Work Commission. While every effort is made to ensure that these pay rates are correct, CCSA cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information provided, and these rates may not be identical to pay rates obtained from other sources. 2 Method for Calculating the Equal Remuneration Payment The following Steps need to be followed to calculate the correct pay rate, including the Equal Remuneration Payment, for employees in the Social and Community Services and Crisis Accommodation streams: a. Determine classification under SCHCADS Award b. Identify Base Hourly Rate payable under SCHCADS Award (Table 1, Column 3) c. Determine classification under former SACS Award d. Determine the Final Hourly Rate payable under SCHCADS Award (Table 1, Column 4) g. Subtract Step e. from Step f. h. Multiply Step g. by 5 and divide by 9 (this is the Equal Remuneration Payment) i. Add Step e. and Step h. (this is the total hourly rate payable), rounding to nearest cent j. For casuals only, multiply Step i. by 1.25, rounding to nearest cent A worksheet to assist in calculating the value of the Equal Remuneration Payment is included with this document. The CCSA Management Infoline ( or ) is available to assist members with these calculations. Updated 22 June Page 2 of 8
