This visinary plan reflects the path in which the Academy will fllw fr the next fur years. The intent f the plan is t cntinue t grw the Gippsland Sprts Academy in its prfile, funding, capacity and capabilities t prgress all aspects f the Academy t realise new pprtunities fr excellence This Strategic Plan utlines Academy's challenges, visin, gals, drivers and pririties t achieve the gals set. Develped in cllabratin with management and staff, the Plan has been accepted by thse wh wrk within the Academy as the framewrk that will see ur athletes cntinue t succeed n the natinal and internatinal stage. Visin: An Investment in Excellence Our visin fr the Gippsland Sprts Academy is that f excellence: Aspiring Gippsland athletes will be expsed t expert technical caching and persnal develpment sessins allwing them t be their best in their chsen sprt and life. Missin: The Gippsland Sprts Academy (GSA) will prvide the pprtunity fr talented Gippsland athletes based in Gippsland t reach their ptential in their chsen sprt and persnal life.

GSA ur prud histry The Gippsland Sprts Academy was established in 1997 and is a cmmunity-based Organisatin prviding develpmental pprtunities fr talented Gippsland athletes within their wn regin. The Gippsland Sprts Academy cvers the six Gippsland Municipalities thrugh t the New Suth Wales brder. The Gippsland Sprts Academy prvided services t 115 athletes in 2013. The athletes assisted included many athletes n the fringe f internatinal recgnitin and numerus athletes wh represented Victria and Australia. The Gippsland Sprts Academy has assisted in prducing an Olympian and tw Paralympians frm the sprt f swimming. We are prud t say Silver medal Olympian and Wrld Champin Swimmer Ashley Delaney, is currently a member f the Australian Swim Team. The Gippsland sprting cmmunity relies heavily n the GSA t help break dwn the bstacles and disadvantages fr lcal athletes such as travel, lack f elite level caching and develpment prgrams. The Gippsland cmmunity is extremely passinate abut sprt and the regin has an immense nursery f natural talent Current and future challenges The GSA strategic plan will address a range f strategic challenges during the next fur-year perid which include: Sustaining relevance and partnership with state and natinal sprting bdies and their peratins thrugh initiatives such as the Rising Star Prgram. Cntinued cmmunity enthusiasm and participatin in sprts by Gippsland yuth Attracting high prfile and sustainable spnsrships and funding Retentin and future attractin f new sprts, caches and vlunteers Grwing a strng GSA identity and prfile with ur stakehlders, spnsrs and the cmmunity Expansin f the number f sprts (individual and team) in GSA, funding at the required level fr quality sprts prgrams - Cntinued rejuvenatin f the Bard and maintaining f financial viability and gvernance Curage t re-establish the bundaries thrugh creativity and initiatives

Sustainable Organisatinal Grwth The GSA must cntinue t grw in a sustainable way. We must cntinue t enhance ur services and pprtunities t Gippsland s aspiring athletes, ensuring that they are supprted ethically and by a strng infrastructure and caching base. This will ccur if we understand and respnd t the needs f all ur athletes. T grw we must have: Well develped strategic partnerships, spnsrships and advcates with external rganisatins; Recgnitin within Gippsland and by the VIS and natinal sprts bdies sprt as a perfrmance leader in elite athlete and cach develpment; A cntinued fcus t maintain, facilitate develp and grw GSA infrastructure and high perfrmance sprt prgrams; High quality leadership, caches, peple, facilities, systems and prcesses cnducive t an envirnment f excellence. T achieve this, we will: Prmte, rganize, administer and participate in sprting cmpetitins, events, meetings and games f all kinds fr the purpse f develping individual skill and excellence f talented sprts peple in the regin; Seek resurces thrugh spnsrship, grants and dnatins t prmte excellence amng talented sprtspeple within their particular sprt; Review and evaluate prgrams n an nging basis t ensure relevance t GSA aims and bjectives; Prmte, encurage and supprt the educatin f talented individuals in the playing, administratin, fficiating in, and caching f sprt;

Excellence in business peratins, gvernance and innvatin An active fcus n excellence in all business peratins, gvernance and innvatin is the crnerstne t the cntinued success f the GSA. The GSA needs t cnstantly strive t imprve all elements f business peratins, gain cutting edge sprting knwledge and t be innvative in rder t imprve the perfrmance f Gippsland s athletes and teams. This will ccur if ur Bard f Management, sub cmmittees and advisry panels keep a strategic fcus n the gals and pririties in all aspects f the GSA peratins. T sustain peratinal excellence and innvatin we must have: Gvernance in relatin t a trustee f any bnd r administer any fundatin established t prmte excellence r achievement in sprt r in activities related t sprt. Streamlined gvernance thrugh Bard sub-cmmittees and regular review f Delegatins Prepare, maintain and mnitr budgets and mnitr cash flw management Maintaining and updating f financial and gvernance plicies and prcedures. Prmtin and develpment f research in all sprt yuth develpment activities Maintaining critical research links with key stakehlders such as VIS, Gippsprt, AIS, ASC and ther state and natinal gvernment sprting research agencies T achieve this we will: Develp a cmprehensive media strategy and spnsrship strategy Prvide active versight n all elements f daily business peratins Cntinue t educate all Bard and sub-cmmittee members n their rles, respnsibilities and due diligence bligatins Prvide funding t directly supprt a culture f research and innvatin via annual targeted business plan activities Frmally reprt ur perfrmance and financial success annually

Optimising GSA Prgrams and Services t Supprt Athlete Preparatin and Perfrmance The success f all athletes is imprtant t the grwth f the GSA and Australia s cntinuing perfrmance in the internatinal arena. We seek excellence frm all thse invlved in the perfrmances f these athletes as they seek t becme the best athletes they can be. This may be at a lcal, natinal r internatinal level. Mst imprtantly, they achieve excellence nt nly in sprt, but in all elements f their lives. T achieve high level athlete preparatin and perfrmance we must: Prvide pprtunities and encuragement fr talented Gippsland sprtspeple t achieve excellence in sprt in the Gippsland Regin; Prmte, enhance and encurage the persnal and educatinal develpment f talented sprtspeple; Fster the educatin f talented individuals in the playing, administratin, fficiating in, and caching f sprt; Fcus n fitness testing and talent identificatin within ur sprts; Prmte and develp research in all sprt yuth develpment activities Include peple with disabilities r the disadvantaged int Academy prgrams; T perfrm at ur best we will: Ensure the availability and applicatin f high quality sprting services t GSA athletes that are f a wrld class standard; Create a wrld class standard f planning and resurces t drive and enhance GSA sprts prgrams. Fster and prmte the alumni fr high achieving athletes and maintain cntact and engagement Fcus n the develpment f knwledge and skills in GSA staff and ther persnnel assciated with the delivery f services t GSA athletes.
