Relevance of the program:- The focus of the insurance industry is shifting to online marketing these days. We can see that there is continuous increase in the number of people preferring to buy various products and services online. Experts relate this shift to increased penetration of Internet in India. Marketing has become increasingly price sensitive globally; and factors like competition in the liberalized market and detariffing in the Indian and developing market contexts have forced insurers to look for more effective and cost-efficient marketing channels. On the consumer side, individual insured s are getting disinterested in spending time on buying decisions across the table. They are becoming more and more comfortable doing financial transactions online in the comfort of their homes, possibly due to the increased ease of use and security measures. In essence, it has become imperative for the insurance sector to change its focus from brick and mortar business to online business. In this context, the aims to provide a stronger theoretical framework for new vistas in marketing to Insurers and bring in a higher degree of professionalism in their work.
