III recognizes the need of the industry to ponder over Social Marketing as a concept and understand its power when applied in a scientific and systematic manner so that they can apply it in the Indian Market, especially in the area of Micro Insurance. Resource Persons: Mrs. Nancy Lee, an internationally renowned authority in the field of social marketing, who has worked extensively with the marketing guru, Philip Kotler and co-authored eight books with him on Social Marketing and related subjects, will be the speaker of the 1 st day, Thursday, 30 th May The speaker of the 2 nd day, Friday, 31 st May, 2013 will be Ms. Letícia Gonçalves, having a background in Law, Business Administration and Development. She has pursued her academic and professional interests in Brazil, England, Austria and Costa Rica and acquired her Masters Degree in Peace, Security, Development and International Conflict Transformation. Currently as an ILO MI Fellow, Leticia is in Guatemala working with Aseguradora Rural. She is helping in the implementation of Vivo Segura a mixed micro insurance product of health and life in all 900+ branches of Banrural in Guatemala. Her interests include product design, distribution channel, use of technology and monitoring projects.

Social Marketing became popular when thinkers like Philip Kotler and Gerald Zaltman realized how Marketing Principles could be used to influence social behaviors to benefit the target audience and the general society. As per one of the popular definitions, Social marketing is a process that applies marketing principles and techniques to create, communicate, and deliver value in order to influence target audience behaviors that benefit society (public health, safety, the environment, and communities) as well as the target audience. (Philip Kotler, Nancy Lee, and Michael Rothschild, 2006). Internationally, Social Marketing has been extensively applied on topics like drug abuse, oral rehydration therapy, breast feeding, organ donation, education, environment protection, etc. Who Should Attend? Senior & Middle Level Executives from The end result is to use marketing concepts and techniques in a systematic manner to achieve specific goals for a - Insurance Companies social good.
