2 th AnniversAry Donor tree On 4th September 1956 Grey Court School opened its doors to students for the first time. September 2016 marks the school s 60th anniversary. This provides an opportunity both to reflect on the achievements of the school and its students and to help shape the school for future generations To mark this occasion, and to provide a lasting legacy for future generations, Grey Court School has commissioned a beautiful donor tree, which will be placed on the welcoming wall opposite reception. The 60th Anniversary Donor tree The anniversary donor tree provides a unique opportunity for parents, staff, alumni, students and wider members of the community to give a contribution to the school and for that contribution to be recognised. Different leaves, in different colours: bronze, silver and gold, can be purchased and each leaf will be engraved with the donor s unique message, as a lasting reminder of their generosity.

3 A very personal legacy The different leaves enable people to donate different amounts, thereby offering an opportunity for everyone. There will be varying prestige attached to each leaf with prices scaled accordingly: Bronze leaves will be priced at 75 Silver leaves will be priced at 150 Gold leaves will be priced at 500 Leaves are an ideal way for families to mark their journey through the school. Each can be engraved with an individual s name, or perhaps the family surname and the years during which they were students here. For example: John Smith Or The Smith family Class, group or club donations A limited number of silver stag motifs have been commissioned that will be dotted among the leaves and beneath the tree canopy. These will be approximately three times larger than the leaves and will allow for more engraving room. For those who wish to remember a particular class, club or sports team they were in during their time at Grey Court, why not join together with friends of classmates to contribute to a group gift? Priced at 1,000, stags have been designed for collective giving. However, individuals or families are also very welcome to purchase a stag.

4 Corporate donations Grey Court School is also able to acknowledge the generosity of companies and large donors on plaques placed at the foot of the tree. These allow greater engraving room, ensuring that we can tailor messages to thank donors appropriately. A school fit for the future Grey Court opened its doors to sixth formers for the first time in 2014, in a fabulous stateof-the-art building (pictured). This provides an appropriate collegiate environment for our A level students. The school now needs to ensure its drama and sports facilities are able to meet the needs of future generations of students. The drama suite is a fabulous space. By installing flexible seating, digital light and sound equipment and modular staging, we can turn it into a state-of-theart creative space for rehearsals and intimate performances. The Sport s facilities also have enormous potential. Our priority is to ensure that the school s hard courts, gyms and changing facilities are up to the standards required of modern community sports facilities while being flexible enough to offer skills and fitness facilities from rowing to basketball; competition netball to 5 aside soccer.
