12 Additinal Infrmatin prvided fr emplyers Payslips It is cmpulsry fr all emplyers t prvide their emplyees with a pay slip at the time their wage is paid eg: weekly / frtnightly What infrmatin must be n the pay slip? Pay slips have t include: the emplyer s name (e.g. XYZ Pty Ltd trading as XYZ Pie Shp) the emplyer s Australian Business Number the emplyee s name the date f payment the pay perid (the perid that the payment is fr eg. 24/3/13 t 30/3/13) the grss pay and net pay ladings, allwances, bnuses, incentive-based payments, penalty rates r ther paid entitlements that can be singled ut if the emplyee is paid an hurly rate: the rdinary hurly rate the number f hurs wrked at that rate the amunt f pay at that rate if the emplyee is paid an annual rate (salary), the rate as at the last day in the pay perid any deductins frm the emplyee's pay, including: the amunt and details f each deductin the name and number f the fund / accunt the deductin was paid int any superannuatin cntributins paid fr the emplyee s benefit, including: Superannuatin the amunt f cntributins made during the pay perid (r the amunt f cntributins that need t be made) the name and number f the superannuatin fund the cntributins were made t. The Australian Taxatin Office has made the fllwing ruling re superannuatin fr ur schl based trainees and apprentices:
13 Emplyee eligibility Fr super guarantee purpses, an emplyee is generally an individual wh receives payment in the frm f salary r wages in return fr their labur r services. Eligible emplyees are wrkers wh are entitled t be paid super guarantee cntributins by their emplyer. Generally yu have t pay super fr any emplyee wh: is between 18 and 69 years ld inclusive yu pay $450 r mre (befre tax) in salary r wages in a calendar mnth wrks full-time, part-time r n a casual basis. Yu als have t pay super fr any emplyee wh meets all f the fllwing: is under 18 years ld yu pay $450 r mre (befre tax) in salary r wages in a calendar mnth wrks full-time, part-time r n a casual basis fr mre than 30 hurs in a week. 14 Allwances Industry Allwances Included with the increase in pay rate we have als nted the allwances that schl based apprentices and trainees are eligible t receive. This infrmatin can be fund in the mdern awards listed and can be accessed frm the FairWrk website Sick Leave and Annual leave All sick leave and annual leave fr schl based apprentices is payable n a pr rata basis. Fr example if yur industry mdern award has 10 sick days per year, a student wh wrks fr yu three days a week, is eligible fr 6 full days f sick pay. Please infrm yur schl based apprentice r trainee f their bligatins with regard t medical certificates accrding t yur cmpany plicy. Annual Leave Annual leave is als n a pr rata basis. If yur mdern award has 20 days f paid annual leave then a schl based apprentice wh wrks 3 days a week will have 12 paid annual leave days available t them. 3 days accruing at the end f each 3 mnths f emplyment. Please nte that sick leave and annual leave entitlements d nt apply t ur schl based trainees if yu are paying the new hurly rate f $11.49 per hur as this is already built int the hurly rate. Lg Bk All students are reminded as part f their Wrk Related Skills studies t cmplete their lg bk each week and have it signed ff by their emplyer r supervisr. This is a great way t map their learning and t assist with the prgressin f hurs frm first t secnd years as an apprentice r trainee. Students were issued with lg bks at the start f the prgram and can get further cpies by cntacting the ateast ffice n TAFE Payment Finally just a reminder that when ur schl based apprentices attend TAFE they are nly eligible t receive 25% f their nrmal weeks wage if they are n blck release r 25% f the days pay if they attend TAFE each week. Fr example if the schl based apprentice wrks 3 days per week x 8 hur days = 24 hurs, therefre they wuld be paid fr 6 hurs when attending TAFE n blck release..
