20 ON THE COVER 2015 ACTIVE EMPLOYEE PICNIC The Water and Power Employees Association Annual Active Employee Picnic was held on Saturday, August 1. It was a sunny, mild, beautiful day for the event held at Knott s Berry Farm in Buena Park. A year of planning and effort resulted in great fun for the attendees, including employees, friends and family members. This year the picnic location was inside the Gold Rush Camp area, where folks could pose and take photos in a real covered wagon near the entrance. Delicious food was served at the all-you-can-eat buffet with a menu of Knott s famous chicken, hot dogs, chili and much more. Face painters offered a variety of whimsical designs to children (and a few adventurous adults). An emcee and crew members provided entertainment and led kids and adults in various games and activities such as Hula Hoop contests and trivia contest. The Water Balloon Toss and the men s Dance-Off were especially entertaining! Lots of great prizes were awarded for those games and the Association raffled off various items as well. As pleased as we are with 2015 s successful event, your Association is always working to make next year even better. 18 ASSOCIATION REPORT
