Farmers Market Pricing Project Bronwyn Aly Local Foods/Small Farms Educator University of Illinois Extension

Farmers Market Pricing Project Why & How 2014 Pricing information Changes in reporting 2015 Pricing information Accessing price reports

Why & How - Provide growers with a tool to help them determine a pricing strategy that supports profitability of their farm - Expose producers and market managers to the range of prices that are being paid for products across the state - Help producers new to farmers markets or who are interested in growing and selling new products set prices

Why & How Consumers can use the price reports to find product and price information from farmers markets throughout the state Because prices are reported in quantified units (pound, pint, head, dozen, etc.), consumers can easily make price comparisons and be more informed shoppers Consumers can track when certain products are available at the different markets and plan shopping trips accordingly

Why & How Collaboration with University of Kentucky Center for Crop Diversification Reporters collect weekly pricing information from markets throughout the state Reports are compiled and submitted to UK for publication on their website
