7 INTRODUCTION Financial Profiles of Florida School Districts provides information about revenues and expenditures of school districts in Florida. Revenues by source and expenditures by function and object are detailed in this document. Additional school district financial information and fulltime equivalent (FTE) student enrollment are also provided. Pages 3 through 14 include various tables, including data on FTE students, Florida Education Finance Program (FEFP) funding, tax millages and property values, and per-student revenues and expenditures. The financial profiles, which begin on page 15, identify sources of revenues, expenditure types, program cost information and categorical program revenue for each school district. Following the profile pages are tables providing information about revenues and other financing sources for governmental funds; expenditures and other financing uses for governmental funds; and miscellaneous information relating to proprietary funds, long-term liabilities and categorical program revenue. Beginning on page 185 are item descriptions that provide information regarding the data tables and the components of the financial data provided within the publication. The FTE and funding tables (pages 3 through 14) are explained on page 185; the profiles of school districts (pages 15 through 85) are explained on page 186; and the elements of the financial data (pages 87 through 184) are described on pages 186 through 198. One change was made in the profiles from the previous year. The expenditure by program section of the district profiles (pages 15 through 85) is for the general fund only. Last year, this section included State Fiscal Stabilization Fund and Education Jobs Act expenditures. School districts reported their final expenditures of federal stimulus State Fiscal Stabilization Fund and Education Jobs Act programs in the school year. This publication is intended to assist managers and the general public in making comparative generalizations about individual school districts. Additional sources of information should be consulted for a comprehensive understanding of a school district s financial position. For additional information or clarification of the information provided, contact the Office of Funding and Financial Reporting at or by mail at Florida Department of Education, Office of Funding and Financial Reporting, 325 West Gaines Street, Room 824, Tallahassee, Florida
