4 S W O T WHAT WAS THE RULING On July 17, 2009, in U.S. District Court, Judge Magnuson ruled the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers failed to comply with its statutory obligations and water supply is not an authorized purpose of Lake Lanier. Threat WHAT DOES IT MEAN The Court stayed Phase I of the litigation for 3 years to allow parties to obtain Congress s approval for the operational changes the water supply providers request.
