Merrill, Interim Chief Probation Officer RECOMMENDATION (S) FOR BOARD ACTIONS: Adopt a resolution authorizing submission of the Comprehensive Multiagency Juvenile Justice Plan Modification and authorizing the Chief Probation Officer to execute all necessary documents associated with the application. DISCUSSION / JUSTIFICATION: The Probation department developed a plan in conjunction with the Board of Corrections to meet the reuirements of the Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (JJCPA), formerly referred to as Crime Prevention Act of 2000 (CPA 2000). Wraparound was the program that evolved through the original planning sessions, with approval from the Children's Services Coordinating Council. The fifth allocation is in the amount of 77,943 for the FY 06/07 for the continuation of juvenile justice programs. As reuired by law the minor plan modifications, number of families served and budget modifications have been discussed and approved by the Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council (JJCC). ALTERNATIVES: Do not accept JJCPA funding. FINANCING: The program and positions are fully funded through JJCPA and involve no county general fund contribution. 2 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY OF DEL NORTE RESOLUTION NO A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF PROBATION OFFICER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH DEL NORTE COUNTY 'S APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE MULTIAGENCY JUVENILE JUSTICE PLAN MODIFICATION. WHEREAS, the County of Del Norte assures that the Del Norte Comprehensive Multiagency Juvenile Justice Plan Modification has been developed and provided to the Board of Corrections in a format determined by the Board of Corrections not later than May 1, WHEREAS, the County of Del Norte Board of Supervisors and the Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council has reviewed and approves the county 's Comprehensive Multiagency Juvenile Justice Plan Modification. WHEREAS, the County of Del Norte will adhere to the reuirements of the Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (Chapters 353 and 475 of the Government Code) regarding the submission of the Comprehensive Multi-agency Juvenile Justice Plan application or revision, investment of allocated monies, including interest earnings, expenditure of said funds, and the submission of reuired reports to the Board of Corrections. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Chief Probation Officer is authorized to submit and/or sign Del Norte County 's Application for Approval for the county 's Comprehensive Multiagency Juvenile Justice Plan Modification after review by the County Administrative Officer. Board of Supervisors ' Resolution A Board of Supervisors ' Resolution and in the case of a city and county, a letter from the mayor, approving the Comprehensive Multi-agency Juvenile Justice Plan must be mailed to your county's assigned Field Representative. A sample of the resolution follows: BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of hereby: Authorizes said Chief Probation Officer, or the chairperson of the Board of Supervisors to submit and/or to sign County's Application for Approval for the County's Comprehensive Multi-agency Juvenile Justice Plan and related contracts, amendments, or extensions with the State of California; and,, Assures that the County of Comprehensive Multi-agency Juvenile Justice Plan has been developed, reviewed and provided to the Corrections Standards Authority (CSA) in a format determined by the CSA.
