1 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR CITY MEETING OF THE CITY OF GROSSE POINTE WOODS HELD ON MONDAY, APRIL 2, 2001, IN THE -COURT ROOM OF THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, MACK PLAZA, GROSSE POINTE WOODS, MICHIGAN. The meeting was called to order at 7:31 p.m. by Mayor Novitke. 2 Motion by Dickinson, supported by Granger, to voice no objection to the Mayoral Proclamation naming April 27, 2001, as Arbor Day in the City of Grosse Pointe Woods. Jack Donahue, Chair of the Tree Commission, presented to the City of Grosse Pointe Woods the 23 rd consecutive Tree City USA Flag from the National Arbor Society. Mayor Novitke, on behalf of the City Council, expressed appreciation to the Grosse Pointe Woods Tree Commission for their hard work and awarded a Proclamation to the Tree Commission honoring Arbor Day on April 27, Motion by Chylinski, supported by Dansbury, that the City Council voice NO OBJECTION to the following mayoral appointment to the Neighborhood Club Joint Recreation Sub- Committee: Alternate Member: City Administrator Bidigare Motion by Dansbury, supported by Chylinski, regarding request to hold GROSSE POINTE WOODS/SHORES LITTLE LEAGUE PARADE, that the City Council concur with the recommendation of the City Administrator and the Director of Public Safety and APPROVE such parade request to take place on May 6, 2001, with the procession starting at Comerica Bank and end at Ghesquiere park, beginning at 1 p.m. and ending at approximately 2 p.m. 2

3 Motion by Steiner, supported Dickinson, regarding proposed 2001/02 General Fund Budget, that the City Council receive and place on file all communications associated with such and REFER to the Finance Committee: 1. Memo 3/30/01 City Administrator 2. Memo 3/29/01 City Comptroller 3. Proposed Budget Motion by Steiner, supported by Dickinson, regarding Grosse Pointe Historical Society, that the request for a donation be referred to the Finance Committee. The following individuals wished to be heard regarding a request for a donation to the Grosse Pointe Historical Society s operating budget: Mike Farley President, Grosse Pointe Historical Society Myrna Smith Director, Grosse Pointe Historical Society 3

4 Motion by Steiner, supported by Dansbury, regarding bids for the annual audit, that the City Council concur with the recommendation of the City Administrator and the City Comptroller and AWARD a contract to: PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP 400 Renaissance Center Detroit, MI in the amount not to exceed $40,000, and to charge such to the following accounts: and other selected funds. Motion by Steiner, supported by Granger, that the City Council voice NO OBJECTION to the adoption of a Resolution regarding Grosse Pointe Inter-Municipal Police Radio Agreement indicating the sum of $420,000 be used for radio purchases and the City s General Funds be used to repay the Cable TV Fund the sum of $420, at the interest rate of 5% over a five (5) year period so that the Cable TV Fund may remain intact for future use. Motion by Steiner, supported by Dansbury, that the following statements from the City Attorney BE APPROVED for payment: Statement dated March 27, City Attorney in the amount of $7, for services rendered in March
