2 COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING DECISION of XXX approving information and promotion programmes for agricultural products on the internal market and in third countries under Regulation (EC) No 501/2008 (Only the Bulgarian, Spanish, Czech, German, Greek, English, French, Italian, Lithuanian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese and Romanian texts are authentic) THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION, Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, Having regard to Council Regulation (EC) No 3/2008 of 17 December 2007 on information provision and promotion measures for agricultural products on the internal market and in third countries 1, and in particular Article 8(1) thereof, Whereas: (1) In accordance with Article 11(1) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 501/2008 of 5 June 2008 laying down detailed rules for the application of Council Regulation (EC) No 3/2008 on information provision and promotion measures for agricultural products on the internal market and in third countries, as last amended by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1085/2011 of 27 October , the Member States have sent the Commission their proposed information provision and promotion programmes for agricultural products on the internal market and in third countries, the names of the implementing bodies selected and the measures needed to adapt those programmes to Union rules. (2) Twenty-two of the thirty-six programmes presented should be selected because they comply with Union rules and meet the criteria laid down in Article 8(2) of Regulation (EC) No 501/2008. (3) Fourteen of the thirty-six programmes submitted should be rejected, chiefly because they fail to comply with Union rules. The Member States concerned have been informed thereof, in accordance with Article 11(2) of Regulation (EC) No 501/2008. (4) The maximum amount of the Union's financial contribution to the twenty-two programmes selected should now be established. (5) In order to ensure compliance with Union rules, the draft information material produced must be forwarded to the Member States for approval before it is finalised, and sent to the Commission for information once it has been finalised. (6) The measures provided for in this Decision are in accordance with the opinion of the Management Committee for the Common Organisation of Agricultural Markets, 1 2 OJ L 3, , p. 1. 3 HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION: Article 1 1. The programmes involving information provision and promotion measures for agricultural products on the internal market and in third countries proposed to the Commission by the competent authorities of the Member States and listed in Annex I to this Decision are hereby selected for a financial contribution from the Union under Article 8(1) of Regulation (EC) No 3/2008. The maximum amounts of the Union's financial contribution for the period of implementation of the programmes are also set out in Annex I. The amounts given for the second and third years are indicative only and subject to the availability of funds. 2. The programmes listed in Annex II are hereby rejected. 3. The Member States shall ensure that any draft information material produced under the selected programmes complies with Union rules. To this end, they shall ensure that contractors send the draft information material to the competent authority in the Member State for approval before it is finalised. A copy of the finalised material shall be sent for information to the Commission. Article 2 This Decision is addressed to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, the Federal Republic of Germany, Ireland, the Hellenic Republic, the Kingdom of Spain, the French Republic, the Italian Republic, the Republic of Lithuania, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Poland, the Portuguese Republic and Romania.
