The rusees have adoped he provisions of Accouning and Reporing by Chariies: Siaemen of Recommended Pracice applicable o chariies preparing heir accounfs in accordance wih he Financial Reporing Sandard applicable in he UK and Republic of lreland (FRS 02) (effecive January 205). Objecives and aciviies Chariy's Mission The chariy's mission is o enable people of all ages and backgrounds o ake posiive acion o change heir lives and he lives of ohers hrough voluneering. Significan aciviies The associaion was regisered under he Companies Ac 985 on he 24 May g94 as a company limied by guaranee and no having a share capial. The associaion is regisered wih he Chaiiiel Commission in England & Wales, and from 26 June 2009 i has also regisered wih he Office of he Scoish Chariy Regulaor. The chariy is governed by he Memorandum and Aricles of Associaion. Achievemen and performance Repor of he Direcor o The Board of Trusees The managing direcor presens his repor o he Board of Trusees and forms par of he Trusees Repor for he year ended 3s May 206. Review of Business This year has been a hugely successful one, wih a big urnaround in our financial siuaion, a new name and brand, and coninued expansion of our programmes working wih disadvanaged and marginalised people across he UK. A he beginning of his year we said we would:. Expand he reach and coverage of our programmes ln December 205 we expanded our eam o include wo new oureach saff supporing ex-offenders in Mancheser and London, enabling us o increase our clien inake by 50%. W; have also conduced a scoping exercise for a new programme supporing disadvaniaged young people in Brisol, idenifying a clear need for work wih young peopie no in educaion oi employmen, in paricular in he 8 o 25 age range where suppor provision is scarce. o Furher refine our monioring and evaluaion processes This year we inroduced a new Pahway Assessmen process o our cliens, enabling us o beer rack heir progress in key areas during our engagemen wih hem, and afer. A he ime of wriing, we are also in he process of conducing an exernal evaluaion of our work wih he army recovery capabiliy, supporing wounded and injured ex-service personnelo engage more in heir communiies upon discharge. o Furher improve our cos effeciveness The year sared wih a move o a new shared office locaion in Brisol and a more sreamlined cenral eam. These changes have made a significan difference o our abiliy o provide high-qualiy suppor o our nework of oureach workers across he counry, a h-e same ime reducing our cenral coss by over 20,000. We believe he new name much beer reflecs he work ha we do across he UK wih vulnerable and marginalised individuals, and he brand fis us perfecly. Our new websie has been well-received, and wih suppor from he OCS Family Foundaion we have produced a range of new brochures, posers and leafles for cliens, again free of charge. Pro bono suppor such as his hugely valuable o an organisaion of our size, and means ha more of our reasured resources can go direcfly ino our programmes. o Relaunch our voluneering daabase Our Worldwide Voluneering Daabase is he larges reposiory of inernaional voluneering opporuniies in he world. This was relaunched in lae 205 on a more accessible and user-friendly plaform. We are coninuing o explore opporuniies for markeing he daabase o bring in income for our UK programmes. As he aached accouns show, he organisaion is in a much healhier posiion han we were welve monhs ago. We finished he year in surplus, and he energy we have pu ino deveoping new and more diverse sources of funding means he pipeline for he fuure looks posiive. The new name and brand ideniy have given us a real boos, and a plaform for showcasing he successes of our work and he impac we have on our cliens' lives. This year we have also secured valuable suppor from new corporae parnerships wih Warburons, OCS and Sagecoach, and launched our firs ever individual giving programme. Our annual saff survey shows high levels of engagemen and saisfacion amongs saff, and we believe we have he righ people in he righ poss o be confiden of a brigh fuure for sep Togeher. Looking ahead, in 206-7, we aim o: o Launch a new programme supporing disadvanaged young people in Brisol; o Review our programme model and idenify new programme opporuniies;. Conduc an exernal evaluaion of our work wih wounded and injured ex-service personnel; o Develop a new five-year funding sraegy; o Increase our profile hrough increased use of social media and showcasing of successes. This year has been an exciing ime for Sep Togeher - for our saff, our supporers and our beneficiaries - as we coninue o improve and grow he organisaion o ensure we maximise our impac and poenial. We aim o do more and achieve more, demonsraing clearly how he righ voluneering placemen in he local communiy can be a key driver of change for mirginaliseo a-nd vulnerable individuals across he UK. Saemen of rusees' responsibiliies The rusees (who are also he direcors of Sep Togeher Voluneering Ld. for he purposes of company law) are responsible for preparing he Repor of he Trusees and he financial saemens in accordance wih applicable law and Unied Kingdom Accouning Sandards (Unied Kingdom Generally Acceped Accouning Pracice), including Financial Reporing Sandard 02 "The Financial Reporing Sandard applicable in he UK and Republic of lreland". Company law requires he rusees o prepare financial saemens for each financial year which give a rue and fair view of he sae of affairs of he chariable company and of he incoming resources and applicaion of resources, including he income and expendiure, of he chariable company for ha period. ln preparing hose financial saemens, he rusees are required o - selec suiable accouning policies and hen apply hem consisenly; - observe he mehods and principles in he Chariy SORP; - make judgemens and esimaes ha are reasonable and pruden; - prepare he financial saemens on he going concern basis unless i is inappropriae o presume ha he chariable company will coninue in business.
